These Korean Celebrities Were Deemed The Most Charitable In 2017

Fans are well aware that K-Pop idols have been known to make generous offers of money and more throughout the years. However, according to the 'The List 2017', these K-Pop idols were known for donating largest amounts of money this year. Explore these charitable idols who made the list down below.

8. Park Myung Soo

Donated 300,000 KRW per month to a charity institute starting in 2003, which came to a total of 500,000,000 KRW (~440,000 USD) in 14 years' time. 

7. Jang Yoon Joo

She was a model who then donated her earnings and monetary wedding gifts to assist in developing an underground water system inside a Tanzanian school as well.

6. JYJ Junsu

The idol star used money he earned from his musical performances to sponsor a choir in Kenya, Africa, in addition to setting up a school under his name.

5. Han Hye Jin

She secretly donated to The Dokdo Guards, but also to a village in Laos to build a well. 

4. IU

Known for donating to help Sewol Ferry victims, as well as a generous, 100 million KRW donation to the Green Umbrella Children's charity organization. Plus, IU is known for providing yearly scholarships to Donguk Girl's High School, her alma mater.


During their 2nd anniversary in 2011, CNBLUE reached out to their neighboring fans who were affected by the devastating earthquake/tsunami in Japan. The boys also donated a portion of their album sales/performance earnings to a charity fund in Africa.

Tiger JK donated all of his earnings from his 5th album sales to help unfortunate children. He and Yoon Mi Rae are well-known for being advocates for children's welfare.

Coming in at first is the famous figure skater Kim Yuna! According to 'The List', the figure skater's donations to numerous organizations exceeds $30 million as of 2015.

Fans Worry About IU's Health Condition After Seeing Photos On Instagram

Recently, the songstress uploaded a picture of her standing next to a tarp of herself, which is beside a food truck that was sent to her filming set. Uaena, IU's official fan club name, remarked that her collarbone is somewhat more pronounced than before and her face looked smaller. Also, in the latest photo of her together with Sulli that the latter uploaded through her official Instagram account, the fans noticed that she looked much skinnier than usual and so they expressed their concern over her condition.

X1, ‘Produce X 101’ Project Group, Hits Billboard’s Social 50 and Emerging Artist Charts

Even before their official debut arrives, 11-member K-pop group X1 is already making ripples in the scene! According to Billboard’s weekly charts dated August 13, the project boy band -- with members coming from the Mnet survival show-cum-talent search Produce X 101 -- has taken the No. 6 spot on the music magazine’s Social 50 chart.
