South Korea singer, IU, also known as Lee Ji-Eun,  successfully held two days concert in Singapore on 6th and 7th December 2019 at The Star Theatre.

As the lights dimmed, the deafening cheers immediately filled the venue. Dressed in blue dress, IU started off the evening serenading the audience with a light hearted song 'unlucky' from her latest album, Love Poem. She went on to perform acoustic version of 'Palette'. The music was composed by her and she penned the lyrics with the collaboration of G-Dragon. Fans were all immersed in her music, singing along with her.

The actress greeted her fans happily with perfect English, "This is IU who loves Singapore so much." She felt that her popularity soar due to the character "Jang Man-wol" from the drama "Hotel De Luna". Cheerful IU said she loves Singapore very much and loves to perform in this auditorium as it was able to bring out the atmosphere with the combination of the superior sound system.

Fans were told to close their eyes and visualise the blue sky, lovely family, birds and dragonflies when she sung 'Autumn Morning'.

The hallyu star also revealed the lyrics of 'Secret Garden' had a beautiful and positive message which she wanted to convey to fans and remind herself. She was surprised 'The visitor' was well received in Singapore as it was not popular in her homeland.

With dim-light, she continued to shine brightly performing 'Jam Jam' and transit to a lively upbeat 'Twenty-Three'.

The vocalist displayed her high pitch prowess through 'Hold my hand', the first song she wrote when she was seventeen years old. The song was not easy as the high notes was challenging to reach. Playful IU taught the audience a line from the lyrics and ask them to sing when she pointed the mic towards them.

The climate came when she sang 'Blueming', the title track of Love Poem. Fan- chants were so loud and energetic till IU felt Singapore fans (also known as Singaena) had really loud voice and Singapore was a city of music as everyone could sing very well.

Singaena had a wonderful sing-along 'Meaning of you' with her. She received much love and felt the need to reciprocate more love back.

The highlight of the concert was when IU performed Hotel Del Luna Ost medley that were prepared just two days before the concert giving fans a huge surprise. She revealed she wanted to perform as a gift to Singapore fans and was worried if she did well. The medley consisted of 10 cm's 'Lean on me', Taeyeon's 'All about you', Gummy's 'Remember me' and her own 'Happy Ending' which she disclosed was not sung in any of her tour concert.

IU mentioned while listening to the song 'Lullaby' and if the melody could make the audience fell asleep would be her greatest encouragement. She gave a brief overview of the song was about a person she could never meet again came into the dream, said goodbye and left. She regretted sharing the story as there was a slight intermission of sadness and told the audience to forget about the explanation.

The multi talented queen continued with another soothing song 'Through the night' and 'Sogyeokdong' before she was transformed into sexy IU, showing off the sexy side of her performing 'The red shoe'.

One of her popular song 'You & I' was sung with dancers and good lighting effect well combined with the led screen display made the performance magnificent.

The crowd cheered very loudly as she returned on stage for her encore performance 'Good day' another of her hits and end off with 'Love poem' as the last song, the main theme of the tour.

Interestingly, every city IU goes when the concert ended, she would become sad. Throughout the four days in Singapore, she was very happy.
IU wanted her fans to remember, "We can't be happy all the time, but every time when you are tired, I hope you breathe really well and promise to breathe well. It was a really happy day for me".
As the fans thought that it was over, she shocked them by reappeared with a re-encore.  IU acceded to a few fans' song request, 'Ending Scene', 'Knees', 'Raindrop', 'Merry Christmas in Advance' and 'Heart' with Singaena.

IU sang a total of thirty songs within three and a half hours. Singaena and IU had a lovely time together and sealed a promise to be back next year with her official lightstick. The concert ended with a beautiful smile in all Singaena as they walked out the theatre feeling happy and looking forward to the next meetup with IU next year.
