This self-made moisturizing face balm is what you need to attain that glass skin Korean stars have. It is simple to make, consists of only natural ingredients, and is sure to take care of your skin!

There are lots of factors that cause our skin to dry out. The number one reason is because of over-cleansing. While you remove the dirt from your skin, you're also getting rid of the skin's natural barrier that is composed of oil, water, and the 'natural moisturizing' components. Another reason is that you're not drinking enough water.

Considering that dry skin commonly happens to anyone, and we all need something to keep our skin healthy and moist, this is where face balm comes in. Face balm is made out of hardened oils that easily melt into fluid when applied on the skin, thanks to the skin's natural warmth.

A face balm is anhydrous, meaning it is free from water, and it only has oil and beeswax as its base. It is excellent for strikingly dry areas such as the heels, hands, joint areas, and face. It can give your skin the nourishment and protection it deserves.

In addition, applying face balm is normally the last step of a skincare regimen. It seals in the skincare products you used beforehand and acts as a shield that protects your skin from external elements like dry or cold air.

If you don't know where to buy face balms or you're unsure which one to use as there are several varieties, might as well try this do-it-yourself moisturizing facial balm that you can use for all kinds of things, like keeping your skin hydrated during cold days or for removing your makeup.

Below are the ingredients and measurements needed:

  •  1 cup organic coconut oil
  •  1 cup organic olive oil
  •  4 T organic beeswax pellets
  •  5 4oz canning jars, clean
  •  Organic Argan oil
  •  Essential Oils (your choice)
  •  1-quart canning jar
  •  A small pot of water
  •  Silicone trivet or washcloth

Instructions:

1. Set the stove on medium heat and place the pot of water over it, and wait until the water gets warm.

Note: If the water is too hot, the temperature of the beeswax rises to the degree to which it will burn and discolor. In case you want to monitor the temperature of the water, take note that the melting point of beeswax is 140-145 degrees.

2. While water is heating up, put the olive oil, coconut oil, and beeswax into the quart canning jar. Then, add the trivet to the bottom of the pot and lay the jar over the trivet. Let the oils and beeswax melt and stir from time to time.

3. As the oils and beeswax melt, add 10-15 drops of the essential oils of your choice to the 4oz jars. Once the oils and beeswax are already combined, pour them into the small jars, leaving one-fourth inches to one-half inches from the top.

4. Let the mixture cool before adding the lids.
