Korean Netizens Are Impressed With Aespa Ningning's Vocals in Individual Teaser

On Nov. 8, 2020, SM Entertainment dropped the teaser for the third Aespa member, Ningning. In her video, she is first seen in an indoor art studio, where she draws and does graffiti on the walls. It appears they are showcasing Ningning's artistic side.
Soon, she is seen going to her tablet and switching to a song called 'RUN', which is speculated to be her solo song that will be included in Aespa's debut album. Ningning is then seen connecting to what appears to be a video call with her Avatar version. Together, the two sings and have a duet.
She is then seen in a vintage-themed lounge, singing on a stage with wine colored velvet curtains behind her. She is seen singing into a microphone and she sings to the camera, showing her amazing vocal skills. The idol can hit high notes effortlessly, solidifying herself as Aespa's main vocalist.
Korean netizens are in awe of her amazing vocals, with some comparing her voice to a Disney princess. People also love how she appears to have a lot of confidence in her voice. Additionally, netizens are praising her visuals and her charming good looks.

Netizens are singing quite a different tune with Ningning now! When SM Entertainment first announced they were going to be debuting Aespa, Korean netizens were against Ningning joining the group's line-up due to her being Chinese. Many had claimed that the Chinese were distorting the Korean War and its history and that Chinese idols should not come to South Korea to make money and debut due to this.
At the time, there was a national petition filed to prevent Chinese idols from actively promoting in South Korea. With the tensions high, Korean netizens ridiculed SM Entertainment for still debuting Chinese idols.

Korean netizens also demaded that she not debut as the group's main vocalist despite how long she trained as a vocal and her vocal skills. They believed that a Korean should be the main vocal, just in case Ningning choose to leave the group and promote in China instead. They claimed that a Korean should be the main vocal to prevent the imbalance of lines in case she leaves.

Criticism maintained even when she was confirmed to be a member, with people saying that it is worrying that a Chinese idol is debuting and people questioning how long she will be staying in the group.
