Tough Training Classes And Rules That Cube Trainees Adhere Revealed, Knetz React

How hard is it to become a Cube trainee?

On Friday, Nov. 20, netizens and K-pop fans shared various reactions when an avid Cube Entertainment artists' fan allegedly revealed the tough lessons, classes, schedules, and rules a trainee under the agency should follow.
The fan said on Thursday, "I thought about what Cube trainees are doing, so I wrote about it."

She added, "It's a class that other agencies can take, but it's different. I think that is the reason why some trainees can't stand Cube Entertainment."

According to the info gathered from what Cube artists have shown and mentioned including BTOB's Eunkwang, the trainees should arrive at the studio at 9:00 A.M. if you are an adult, and students should come after their school classes. No trainee can use their phone during the training, and a trainee should hand over their practice diary to be examined by the trainers.

As for foreign trainees, it is mandatory to take Korean lessons. A Korean teacher will give the lessons, while the trainers provide the test once a week. In front of staffs, no one is permitted to speak their native language aside from Korean, and they need to sit down with the trainers for a conversation using the language to track down their improvements. (G)I-DLE's Minnie, who is a Thai-born K-pop idol, shared this experience.

Trainees, may they be foreign or Korean, should take Japanese and Chinese classes as well, as Japan and China are where most idols promote a lot.

Cube Entertainment also focused on improving the skills and talents of the trainees through vocal, dance, and rap lessons. Cube is very particular to vocals (a tip for Cube trainee aspirants!), and if a trainee was shortlisted for the debuting team but didn't have a particular position, the trainee shall take the rap classes.

Suppose some trainees have high potential to become song composers. In that case, Cube Entertainment will give them more training, including self-evaluation or competition among them through their self-written songs.

In addition to skills, Cube is also focused on developing their future artist's etiquette and character; thus giving them personality education. The user explained this class as, 'a class that instils vision, desire, and passion'.

Other than physical fitness and maintaining their body weight and looks, there are also mental health check-ups or regular psychological consultations and personality tests where trainees try to understand and get along with each other.

Add-ons such as fashion class, music and instrument class, acting class, volunteer work activities, sex and drug education, etc. are perks of being a Cube trainee.

Lastly, the most difficult part of the class is the showcase which is posed as a small concert where trainees are task to form groups and perform. It is revealed that approximately 15 trainees will be kicked out for each showcase.

When the list circulated online, K-netizens are truly surprised and conveyed how proud they are of the trainees and current Cube artists who survived the training.

A fan said, "Even though all the Cube trainees who debuted were minors at the time, except for Kwon Eunbin, they already had hard training at Cube, so if you think about it, you won't be discouraged and show your star quality and show it to the end. The Cube is tougher than the Produce. I can't believe they are cutting 15 trainees each showcase."

Netizens also commended Cube Entertainment for, despite tough lessons, they see their trainees as humans and not just artists that they will have to sell after debut.

One netizen pointed out, "They manage really well. Not only giving mental classes but also helping them spread their way in other fields, it seems that they respect idols not only as a product but also as a person."
