Wanna One Will Not Reunite for 2020 MAMA, K-Netz React

After reports confirmed that Mnet wanted a Wanna One reunion performance to happen at the 2020 Mnet Asia Music Awards, however, the plans will not be pushing through. Here's the reason.

When reports first stated that Mnet was pushing for a Wanna One performance, netizens voiced out their disagreement with the idea. They stated that all of the members were busy will their own solo or group activities and that if they were to reunite as Wanna One, they should gain something from it. However, Mnet has stated they only want Wanna One to reunite for a group performance, meaning there is little benefit for the members.

Mnet was also accused of demanding the agencies of the member to let Wanna One reunite on stage. Netizens slammed Mnet for this, saying that the company should be focusing on compensating the victims of their voting manipulation.

Additionally, there are only two weeks left until the awards ceremony. Fans are saying that if they want Wanna One back on stage, they should at least invest the time and resources into Wanna One. However, it has been reported that the members have not even met up, much less gone to rehearsals. Since Wanna One disbanded two years, it is nearly impossible for Wanna One to pull off a MAMA-ready performance.

It appears Mnet heard Wannables pleas. On Friday, Nov. 20, Mnet announced that Wanna One will not be performing at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards. After hearing the news, Korean netizens let out a sigh of relief. Many had stated that Mnet was obviously abusing their power by trying to get Wanna One back together and that they should leave the members alone. Others, however, said that Wanna One does not deserve to debut since they were also a group whose members benefitted from manipulated votes.

"Mnet really needs to leave the members of Wanna One alone."

"These people were seriously abusing their power over Wanna One. It was so obvious."

"They need to stop."

"I am sick and tired of hearing about Mnet asking Wanna One to reunite and perform together."

"It is good that the group disbanded instead of continuing to promote."

"Well, they were also a group that debuted because of manipulated votes, so there is no reason for them to come together again."

"They should not perform together after the voting manipulation controversy."

"These sick people at Mnet seriously need to leave Wanna One alone."

"HAHA, of course, they should never reunite and perform together. They debuted because of the manipulated votes."
