BLACKPINK Sends 'The Invitation' Teaser for Their Huge Year-End Event

K-pop fans, especially BLINKs, around the world, are invited!

On Monday, it was revealed that the huge project of the world-renowned group BLACKPINK is expected to be unveiled on Dec. 3, and it will surely give a dazzling end of the year celebration to music fans and supporters!

YG Entertainment, the agency of the group, sent out "The Invitation" for the said event through a video--this was posted on BLACKPINK's official social media accounts at 12:00 p.m. KST.

The video showed someone wearing white gloves, and she/he is putting some special items and a letter to BLACKPINK in a cryptic bag. It is a video that stimulates the viewers' curiosity about what the sender's identity is.

Along with the scene, fans and viewers' excitement also increases with the suspenseful sound and cryptic numbers that remind people of spy movies, which immediately piqued people's interest. 

However, the delivery information "11 AM KST-DEC. 3RD. 2020," which includes the mysterious bag's password, captured viewers' attention the most.

BLACKPINK: Around the World + Achievement Throughout 2020

Prior to the release of "The Invitation" teaser, fans' anticipation for the mysterious huge year-end party pre-existed due to the previously released video, "BLACKPINK: Around the World."

In the video, satellite view, photos of major cities around the world, local time, and BLACKPINK's signature sound are included, leading fans' expectations to escalate.

There is no detailed information that has been released yet to the public. However, BLACKPINK is expected to hold a big event at the end of the year, considering that the promotion for their first full-length album was held about a month ago.

On the other hand, BLACKPINK recorded numerous achievements and gained an unrivaled position in the global music market with its powerful activities this year.

In May, BLACKPINK was featured in "Sour Candy," their collaboration track with the international pop star Lady Gaga.

This is followed by their pre-release track, "How You Like That," in June, "Ice Cream ft. Selena Gomez" in August, and "THE ALBUM," which is the first full-length album in four years of the group.

BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" ranked second in both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the U.K. Official Albums Charts in both the first week of its release, followed by ranking seven consecutive weeks, K-pop girl groups' highest-ranking and longest-running popularity.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK is also the first K-pop girl group to surpass 1 billion YouTube views for a single music video. It is also the group with the most MV with 1 Billion views including, "DDU-DU DU-DU," "KILL THIS LOVE," and "BOOMBAYAH."
