Berry Good Johyun Allegedly Put Staff at Risk of COVID-19

Berry Good's Johyun is being suspected of putting staff members in danger of the current COVID-19.

Reports state that the idol has exposed numerous staff members to the risk of coming down with COVID-19 because of her behavior. On Dec. 1, Berry Good's member and actress Johyun took part in an interview prior to the premiere of her movie titled "The Dragon Inn Part 1: The City of Sadness." During that day, the marketing team of the film, a label representative, and an on-site manager were also present, as well as three to four reporters and multiple photographers.

Ahead of the interview, the manager and Berry Good's Johyun underwent COVID-19 testing. However, the company did not immediately inform the marketing team of the movie nor the reporters.

Then, on Dec. 2, the same marketing team and four reporters conducted another interview, but this time with lead actor Ji Ill Joo at the same place. It was reported that one of the four press persons attended a different event for a separate movie press release afterward, thus further heightening the risk of spreading COVID-19.

On that same day, JTG Entertainment announced that the manager and label's CEO received positive test results for COVID-19. On the other hand, Johyun and the other Berry Good members tested negative for coronavirus.

Even though Berry Good's Johyun received negative results, many are accusing her as well as the label for knowing that they were being tested for COVID-19 yet still attending the event. Such opinions were made after considering the fact that other K-Pop artists who got tested for COVID-19 didn't show up in their scheduled appearances on television music shows to avoid the possible spread of coronavirus. Some even postponed or canceled their upcoming events.

In response to the suspicion, Berry Good's management agency stated that they will re-investigate whether there are other artists and staff members who had potential exposure and are at risk of further infection. JTG Entertainment also stated that they will make an effort to ensure the health and safety of their artists and staff through complying with the health authorities' quarantine guidelines.

Johyun and her fellow Berry Good members are currently in self-quarantine for two weeks in accordance with the instructions by health authorities.

Meanwhile, Berry Good's Johyun will be making her debut film with "The Dragon Inn Part 1: The City of Sadness." She was cast as one of the main characters of the movie, along with Ji Il Joo, Bae Hong Seok, Park Jeong Hwa, Jang Eui Soo, and Kang Yul.

"The Dragon Inn" is an "actor noir" film that is about a Chinese restaurant that looks normal on the outside, but has a thrilling secret on the inside. It houses vigilantes that take justice into their own hands by ruling cases that the court of law has failed to judge. Johyun will play the role of a woman named Ye Joo, who is one of the squad members at the restaurant. "The Dragon Inn Part 1: The City Sadness" premiered on Nov. 26.
