BTS Becomes Artist with 'Longest Double Domination' for Billboard's Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S.

Worldwide superstar BTS broke another record, leading two of Billboard's worldwide song rankings!

On Jan.12, Billboard Korea announced that the septet boyband BTS, then again represents the K-pop industry as they dominated both Billboard's "Global 200" and "Global Excluding the U.S."

Due to this achievement, they now hold the title for the artist with "longest double domination" for both worldwide chart rankings.

In particular, the global ranking was based on the weekly streaming and sales data of an artist, collected from more than 200 countries in collaboration with MRC Data.

Both rankings accept data worldwide, just that "Global Excl. U.S" includes all except data from the U.S., as stated on the ranking's name. The Chart rankings particularly include the stream data from official music-streaming sites or applications, including the streams with subscription or streams supported by ads.

BTS Tops Billboard "Global 200" For Fourth Week

According to Billboard, BTS return to their No. 1 spot through their mega-hit track, "Dynamite," despite a 3-percent decrease on their former record of 55.6 million streams as well as a 15 percent decline on their 18,000 sales dated on Jan. 1-7-- defeating the long reign of Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You."

Following BTS, Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez's "Dakíti" fell to No. 2 after three weeks in No. 1, followed by Justin Bieber's "Anyone" which debuted at No. 3.

Along with them, 24kGoldn's "Mood" featuring Iann Dior ranked No. 4, while The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" completed the top 5.

BTS Maintains No.1 Rank at Billboard's "Global Excluding U.S."

For the latest rankings, the seven-member group secured its spot at No. 1, even if their data decreased three and seven percent from their 48.3 million streams and 15,000 sales, respectively.

Currently, they protected their crown for eight extended weeks. With this, they also attained another double domination for both worldwide charts for the fourth time, the longest among artists, after defeating Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez's "Dakíti."

As of press, BTS broke their own record, having another double domination after topping both worldwide weekly charts dated for Jan. 16.

BTS "Dynamite" Set Major Records at K-pop Radar

On the other hand, BTS "Dynamite" is surely taking over multiple charts, may it be local or international, as it created another achievement in the history of K-pop Radar.

According to the latest track of the fandom data oberving platform, "Dynamite" music video recorded 18.03 million views on the K-Pop Radar 2021 Week 2 (January 3~January 9) chart, ranking first for 4 consecutive weeks.

As a result, BTS reached the top of the K-Pop Radar Weekly Chart in the first week of the new year, and continues to dominate with the honor of taking the crown seven times with a single song.

In this regard, K-Pop Radar also said, "Dynamite" of BTS is the first in the history of the K-pop group to record 18 million weekly views of the music video even in the 20th week of release, which is a major K-pop record."
