ITZY's Not Shy and Beyond

"Not Shy" was originally released on August 17, 2020, the third Korean EP for the JYPE super rookies. It originally offers an insight into the members' younger years, while also recognizing the love and support offered by their beloved MIDZY. It managed to top the South Korean Gaon Album charts, as well as peaking at the 11th spot on the US Billboard World Album Charts.

Heran Mamo, writing for Billboard, positively received the "Not Shy" album. He noted how "Not Shy zeroes in on the K-pop quintet's teenage years under the limelight while shouting out their loyal fans who've stood by them." Additionally, he noted the release of the music video for the EP's title track of the same title, "showing off the visual for the titular track, which proves the girls are not shy whatsoever."

As a globally-emerging group, ITZY has garnered the attention of some of the top publications - TIME, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Seventeen, and Teen Vogue among others. The group kicked off 2020 with the remaining leg of their showcase tour in the US, titled "Itzy? Itzy!" The United States leg of the concert included five sold-out shows in five major locations: Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Houston, Washington D.C., and New York.

On March 9, 2020, the JYPE girl group released their second EP, the seven-track "It'z Me." The album is led by the single "Wannabe," which also received an English language version in the new album. The EP treated fans to their experiments with electronic dance music (EDM) elements, resulting in a more upbeat and electro feel in the songs. "It'z Me" became the group's first chart-topping album in their native South Korea, as well as peaking at the fifth spot of the US Billboard World Albums chart.
