BLACKPINK's Rosé will be singing her solo debut song for the first time at the group's online concert 'THE SHOW' prior to its official release!

According to YG Entertainment on Jan. 25, BLACKPINK's Rosé has already finished filming her music video for the title track of her upcoming solo debut album in the middle of January. The record label added, "It is a music video with large-scale, worthy of its high production cost, so we are doing our best to improve the level of completeness for it. We plan to officially announce the album release schedule soon."

YG Entertainment also stated that after careful consideration, they have agreed on Rosé's opinion of wanting to show her fans her solo debut title track before its official release since she has not seen BLINKs (BLACKPINK's fan club) in a long time. The agency then shared, "Rosé's solo song captures her sweet yet soulful vocals. It will completely be different from BLACKPINK's existing music."

Rosé to be the Second BLACKPINK Member to Make Her Solo Debut

YG Entertainment previously revealed that the solo debuts of the BLACKPINK members will be sequential, with Rosé being the second member to debut as a solo artist. Jennie made first her solo debut back in 2018 with a single title "SOLO," which quickly top the Gaon Music Chart and attained a triple crown for ranking first place on the digital, download, and streaming charts. Additionally, the music video for the song recently hit 600 million views.

In June 2020, YG Entertainment stated that they have been working on BLACKPINK Rosé's very first solo song for more than a year. The company shared that they plan to release several songs all in one album rather than just a digital single. At that time, they said that the singer will be making her solo debut in September following the release of the group's first full-length album, "THE ALBUM."

However, Rosé's solo debut did not go as planned, and BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" came out in October. According to the female idol in the Netflix documentary "BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky," she was hesitant to release music so soon since she wanted to make it perfect. It has also been revealed that she directly took part in the creative process of her album.

Considering that Rosé will sing her solo debut song for the first time at BLACKPINK's "THE SHOW" online concert, fans need not wait any longer for Rosé's highly-anticipated solo track as the group's concert is only a few days away. Set to take place on Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. KST, the event will feature a live band and will be broadcast all around the world via the girl group's official YouTube channel.

Fans can either purchase the "standard" or "plus" membership to access BLACKPINK's "THE SHOW" online concert. For the "plus" members, they will be given the chance to see the girls' "soundcheck rehearsal live" that will be held one day ahead of the main event. Also, "special behind video series" will be released for those with "plus" membership.
