GOT7 Jackson is gearing up for a new release this January!

It has only been a week since Jackson and his fellow GOT7 members left JYP Entertainment following the expiration of their exclusive contract. And, he has just signed a business agreement with Sublime Artist Agency, which is also a new home of his bandmate, Youngjae.

It has been revealed that Sublime Artist Agency will be working with GOT7 Jackson's self-established company, TEAM WANG, in managing the male idol's activities not only in South Korea and China but as well as in other countries all over the world. And it appears like the rapper is already kicking off his activities as he has dropped the first teaser video for his new song.

GOT7 Jackson Teases His Upcoming Track

On Wednesday, Jan. 28, Jackson Wang announced via an Instagram story that TEAM WANG has joined YouTube and Twitter. Through this new SNS accounts, the male idol shared the first teaser video for his new song, titled "Alone." The clip is about 25 seconds and it begins with a smoking and damaged vehicle, then it showed GOT7 Jackson on the ground with a minor injury on his face.

The video transitions to the idol climbing down the stairs and later presents a part of a house with broken objects. Jackson can also be seen sitting on the bed with a blank expression. He also shared the same video via his Instagram stories. From the title and the teaser video, it looks like the rapper will be challenging himself in acting again with another moving story.

While the 24-second clip may be the official teaser for Wang's upcoming track, the artist has been teasing fans beforehand. He often hinted at a new release through his personal SNS accounts. In particular, Jackson would share with the fans that he has finished recording songs or tell them how many he has completed already.

GOT7 Jackson's 2020 Songs

The new song, "Alone," will be GOT7 Jackson's first track after he departed from JYP Entertainment and joined Sublime Artist Agency. Also, it will be his first release after "Shoud've Let Go" back in December 2020, and single "Pretty Please," his collaboration with Swedish duo Galantis.

The latter tells a story of a man falling in love and confessing his feelings to that person. Wang is revealed to be the one behind the planning and editing of the song's music video, which honors Hong Kong's romantic movies from the 90s.

Prior to "Pretty Please," Jackson launched a new self-written track, "100 Ways," in March 2020. It features a combination of western and Chinese culture. This song tells a story of a man who had loved a woman but was unable to be with her in his first life, so he overcomes time to return to look for her and tell her, "I'm the only one you need."

"100 Ways" debuted at No. 39 on Mediabase's U.S. Top 40 radio chart in May, becoming the very first song by a Chinese and K-pop soloist to enter the popular rankings. Two months later, it peaked at No. 24.
