BTS Earns New Titles as 'Dynamite' and 'Map of the Soul: 7' Continue to Rank on Billboard Charts

Big Hit Entertainment's boy band BTS is no stranger to the Billboard charts, continuously setting and breaking records with their accomplishments. This week, the septet once again made history as their hit song "Dynamite" and fourth Korean-language album "Map of the Soul:7" continue to stay on the Billboard charts.

BTS Becomes First Korean Act to Have Two Albums Spend a Full Year on Billboard 200

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the 200 most-popular albums in the United States every week. On Feb. 23 local time, Billboard has released the Billboard 200 rankings for the week ending Feb. 27. And based on the chart, the fourth album of the world-famous K-pop boy group, "Map of the Soul: 7," claimed the 108th spot.

BTS's "Map of the Soul: 7" just hit 52 weeks or a full year on Billboard 200, becoming the second album by a Korean act to do so - and BTS's second album. The only other K-pop album to stay on the said chart for a whole year or more is the group's 2018 album, "Love Yourself: Answer," which charted for a total of 98 weeks or almost two years. However, "Love Yourself: Answer" has not reentered Billboard 200 after the week of Dec. 12, 2020.

Because of this, BTS is now the first Korean act to have two albums with a one-year record each on the Billboard chart. The K-pop boy group was also close to having three albums since their 2017 album "Love Yourself: Her" managed to rank for 44 weeks. However, it has not reappeared on the chart since the week ending Sept. 1, 2018.

Moreover, BTS's "Map of the Soul: 7" is the best-selling album of all time in South Korea.

BTS Becomes First K-pop Act and Artist to Achieve these Milestones with Their Hit Song "Dynamite"

Meanwhile, the septet's hit "Dynamite" also constantly ranks on other Billboard charts. In particular, the song ranked 45th in its 26th week on the latest Billboard Hot 100. With this, "Dynamite" becomes the first song by any artist to spend half a year on the Billboard Hot 100 - and making BTS the first K-pop act to do so.

The track has also entered this week's Billboard Global 200 Excl. US, scoring the No. 4 position. What makes this more impressive is that BTS's "Dynamite" has become the first song by any artist to spend six months in the top 5 since the creation of the said chart - and of course making the band the first Korean act to attain this milestone.

Furthermore, "Dynamite" rose to the top of this week's Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart with more than 16,000 sold. It also made it to the newest Billboard Global 200, coming in at No. 10, as well as on the Canada Hot AC and Mexican Ingles Airplay, securing the No. 25 spot on both charts.

Congratulations to BTS!
