BTS Earns Halsey, MAX, & Lauv's Support after Getting Harsh Remarks + Matthias Matuschik Didn't Intend to Hurt ARMYs

BTS continues its streak on numerous audio streaming platforms and music charts worldwide. However, alongside their undeniable success, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, RM and Suga have also received criticisms and disparagements.

BTS Gets Support From LAUV, Halsey, and MAX

On Saturday, Feb. 27, known music artists came to the defense of BTS after the group received racist comments from German radio DJ Matthias Matuschik. Lauv was among the very first artists who spoke up in support of the septet.

In a post shared on his official Twitter account, Lauv said he stands by BTS and to everyone who continuously get racist remarks. The "I Like Me Better" hitmaker shared that nobody should ever experience and endure this kind of maltreatment, adding that everyone must stand up and stop it.

MAX, who had collaborated with Suga in 2020, also released a statement after learning about the denigrations BTS received from the DJ. The singer said that BTS members are among the hardest working and most humble people he knows in the industry, making them so deserving of all the success they have earned through the years.

The "Blueberry Eyes" singer said hearing the hateful words used against the South Korean boy band made him sick. MAX even shared that hating BTS and the entire Asian community is totally unacceptable.

Halsey, for her part, posted a message on her Instagram story in support of BTS. The American singer-songwriter divulged that she was horrified after hearing the comments of Matthias Matuschik, adding that saying irresponsible and disgusting statements amid the skyrocketing hate and violence towards Asian communities is very intolerable.

DJ Responds to Accusations He is Racist Following Remarks to BTS

Meanwhile, German radio DJ Matthias Matuschik gave a statement to Buzzfeed Germany in response to the allegations that he made racist comments against BTS. He said that the nationality of the septet members had no bearing on his remarks and added that fans of the group might have misunderstood his words.

Matthias stated he was unhappy that his comments were being distorted in the context of the presently famous racist stick. Most, if not all, fans are fully aware that the DJ discussed BTS' cover of "Fix You" by Coldplay earlier this week.

To everyone's dismay, DJ Matthias Matuschik compared BTS to the COVID-19, stating he hopes that a vaccine would be available very soon for the band. Though he initially said that he had nothing against South Korea, the disc jockey said he did not like seeing the group proudly covering the hit Coldplay song.

The comments of DJ Matthias Matuschik spread like wildfire on social media, with ARMYs expressing their disgust to his racist comments. Station Bayern 3, in a statement, claimed that Matuschik did not intent to hurt the feelings of the fans.
