TXT's Comeback Happening in May? Big Hit Music Releases Official Statement

TXT will reportedly make a comeback in May! This would mark the boy group's return to the K-pop scene after almost seven months.

On April 7, Korean media outlet YTN reported that TXT is preparing to make their comeback in May with a new album. Big Hit Music (formerly called Big Hit Entertainment) has since issued an official statement.

According to an exclusive report published by a Korean media outlet, YTN, on April 7, Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Huening Kai, and Taehyun will be making their much-awaited comeback in May. YTN added that there's still no final decision made for the format of the new album.

TXT's supposed comeback in May would be their first comeback in about seven months since the boys dropped their third mini-album titled "minisode1: Blue Hour" in October last year.

Previously, BTS was also reportedly making a comeback in May with a new song. Expectations are increasing within the K-pop industry on whether BTS and TXT, two of the biggest Korean acts, will return in the same month.

On the same day, a representative from Big Hit Music responded to the report about TXT returning with a new album in May. The rep stated that the company will release its plans for their artists after they have been finalized. This is the same comment the label previously gave with regard to the reports of BTS's comeback taking place in May.

TXT's Comeback with "minisode1: Blue Hour" and Japanese Album "Still Dreaming"

Meanwhile, TXT's latest release in Korea is their third extended play titled "minisode1: Blue Hour." This EP conveys the emotions from the point of view of a teenager who has encountered changes in his life. It contains a total of five tracks, including the lead single of the same name. All members - Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Huening Kai, and Taehyun - took part in writing the lyrics for "Blue Hour."

"minisode1: Blue Hour" received positive reviews from music critics, who praised the album's emotional narration. TXT's latest Korean album even sold over 300,000 copies in its first week of release, debuting at No. 3 on the Gaon Album Chart.

"minisode1: Blue Hour" also became TXT's highest-charting album on the Billboard 200 after it claimed the No. 25 spot. Moreover, the album became the group's second No. 1 on Oricon Albums Chart, after "The Dream Chapter" ETERNITY." The EP also ranked second on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart.

After "minisode1: Blue Hour," TXT released their debut Japanese studio album entitled "Still Dreaming." Released on Jan. 20, the album features the original Japanese track "Force," which was chosen as the opening theme for the World War Trigger Season 2.

"Still Dreaming" debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon Albums Chart and earned a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Additionally, the Japanese album took the No. 173 position on the Billboard 200, making TXT the second K-pop group in history to land a Japanese album on the American music chart, following BTS.
