From May 4 to May 18, StarPlay held a poll, titled "The B-side gems more people should know?"

There, fans were tasked to vote for the b-side song that deserves the same love and treatment as a title track! Fans were able to vote for the b-side K-pop songs they want everyone to listen to.

The first-place winner of the poll would score some PR through online news articles.

ASTRO's "By Your Side" is the B-Sidetrack That Deserves More Attention

Ranking at the top is ASTRO's song "By Your Side," which garnered 41.99% of the total votes. "By Your Side" was released in 2018 as a B-sidetrack to ASTRO's mini-album, "Rise Up." Fans may remember the title track, "Always You," as it was released during a time of uncertainty.

"Rise Up" was released during ASTRO's hiatus from South Korean activities, as their label, Fantagio, was going through internal issues at the time. None of the songs were promoted on music shows during its release. Instead, ASTRO promoted "Always You" in Jan. 2019.

"By Your Side" was co-written by all the members of ASTRO and talked about how sorry they are for not being by their fans. The song also expressed their wishes of holding on and continuing as a group. "By Your Side" is a thank you to all the AROHAs who have stuck by them through thick and thin.

Additionally, the song expresses how much they miss their fans and ask them to stay by their side.

GFRIEND's "Flower Garden" is the Girl Group B-Sidetrack That Deserves More Attention

GFRIEND's "Flower Garden" was the highest-ranking girl group song on the poll, ranking at number six and snagging 3.32% of the total votes. "Flower Garden" was released in 2018 as a b-sidetrack for GFRIEND's sixth mini-album, "Time For the Moon Night."

The song will surely touch BUDDYs hearts, especially now, following reports that GFRIEND has disbanded after they departed from Source Music. Lyrically, "Flower Garden" talks about a promise buried in time and the memories that will never leave their minds. The song also talks about how people may say that nothing in this world lasts forever, yet the memories they have shared will last in their memory forever.
