GOT7 and Bambam Bag Awards at 2021 Joox Thailand Music Awards

GOT7 and member Bambam have each taken home an award from the 2021 Joox Thailand Music Awards.

What is Joox Thailand Music Awards?

Joox Thailand Music Awards (JTMA) is an awards ceremony held every year by the JOOX music streaming application. This event recognizes people with outstanding performances in the music and entertainment industries.

This year, the judging criteria were based on scores from three aspects: offline music downloads, streaming on JOOX and sharing over the past year, which make up 70% of the total points.

The 10% of the score includes the votes from people in the music and entertainment industries, and the 20% (except for Top Social Artist of the Year) is based on fan votes within Thailand.

The voting period only took place from April 26 to May 9, for almost two weeks. It was reported that a total of 70,718,852 votes from fans across Thailand were received, and more than 50,000 clips of JOOX BUZZ were sent to cheer on their favorite artists.

In addition, there are only five categories for this year's awards ceremony: Artist of the Year, Lukthung Song of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Top Social Artist of the Year.

GOT7 and member Bambam were among the winners announced. In particular, Bambam received the "Song of the Year" award for the song "I'm Not a Con-Heartist," which he released as an original soundtrack for the Thai movie "The Con-Heartist" in November last year.

GOT7 Bambam is credited for composing and producing "I'm Not a Con-Heartist," together with Psycho Tension.

Through a video, GOT7 member Bambam gave his acceptance speech. He said, "I am very grateful to receive the 'Song of the Year' award for the very first time ever. Thank you to everyone who voted for me and to those who continue to like the song over the past six months."

Last year, Bambam won the "Social Superstar" award at the same awards ceremony, showing his strong influence in his home country.

Apart from Bambam, his group GOT7 also bagged an award at the 2021 Joox Thailand Music Awards. The "ENCORE" singers claimed the "Top Social Artist of the Year" award. This recognition is based on the 100% vote of fans across the country. This goes to show how well-loved GOT7 is in Thailand.
