According to K-Pop Radar, BLACKPINK member Lisa is the female K-pop idol that gained the most Instagram followers in the month of May. From May 1 to May 30, Lisa reportedly gained 1,671,420 followers, making her end of the month total to 53,282,673 followers.
Lisa is the most followed K-pop idol on Instagram and is the first and only idol to surpass 50 million Instagram followers. She is continuing to set engagement and follower count records on the popular social media followers.
Her fellow BLACKPINK members did not trail far behind, however!
Jennie ranked at number two among female K-pop artists who gained the most Instagram followers in May. Jennie gained 1,594,600 followers in that month, making her end of the month total to 45,972,791 followers.
In 2018, Instagram named Jennie as the most loved account of 2018 in South Korea. This title was awarded to the "SOLO" singer based on the number of views and likes her Instagram Stories and posts received that year.
Rosé ranked at number three on this list, gaining 1,359,913 new followers in May 2021. By the end of the month, the "On The Ground" singer had a total of 41,438,723 followers on the platform. On the other hand, Jisoo ranked at fifth place, gaining 1,243,806 and a total of 41,290,868 followers by the end of the month.

The BLACKPINK account ranked at number fifth. Run by YG Entertainment, the Instagram account reportedly gained 810,229 new followers in May 2021, making their end of the month total follower count to 38,147,099.
