TWICE Stylists Slammed for 'Unflattering' Make-Up
TWICE's makeup stylists are under fire for patchy and heavy makeup for the girl group's "Alcohol-Free" promotions.
Fans have criticized TWICE's makeup artists for a while now for hiding the girls' natural beauty through thick makeup, but the backlash has risen ever since the release of "Alcohol-Free."
In a recent selfie of Sana, Momo, and Dahyun, many slammed the stylist for making the idols look as stiff as wax, while others stated that their eyes looked lifeless due to the light-colored contact lenses.

For Momo specifically, fans pointed out that her makeup does not do her beauty justice. The stylist always makes her aegyo-sal prominent, making it look more like tired eye bags rather than cute puffiness under the eyes.
To make her aegyo-sal this big, makeup artists apply brown powder under the eyelids and white glitter on the eyelid. These steps appear to be overdone, making Momo's eyes appear unnatural.

On the other hand, some criticized the stylists for Nayeon's patchy make-up. They appear not to blend out her makeup well, making some places look too white and other areas too dark. Others also criticized the make-up artists for overdoing her blush.
The makeup they put on Jihyo allegedly makes her look fatigued. Fans are unsure if it was done unknowingly or intentionally, but Jihyo's eyebags are always prominent during her makeup looks. Her dark circles are also not adequately concealed, making her look tired.

For Mina, fans complained that they are always overdoing the "spider" eyelashes on her. Her eyelashes are always up high and stiff, making the idol look like a lifeless doll.

Sana is known for her sharp nose and big eyes, but her make-up does not do her justice. Some have even stated that due to the unflattering use of highlights and shadows, her nose ends up looking wider than it actually is.

For Chaeyoung, on the other hand, fans complain that her fake eyelashes are too thick, both at the top and bottom lashes. Instead of her cute doll-like beauty, many believe that it just makes her look like a wax figure.
Many are calling for the make-up artists of TWICE to switch up their make-up routines and allow them to show off their natural beauty more. Fans are unsure if it is the fault of the product or the technique but still believe that TWICE, as representative idols of the third generation of K-pop, deserve make-up that allows them to shine on stage.
