According to Hanteo Chart on July 16 KST, BTS' recently released single CD of "Butter," has sold a total of 1,975,364 copies for the week of July 9 to July 15 - an incredible feat considering that it has only been a week since its release on July 9, and that it was achieved by a single CD.

BTS Butter CD Version Selling Almost 2 Million Copies in a Week Sets New Milestone

The achievement marks the CD version of "Butter" as the highest-selling album released this year.

As a result, "Butter" surpasses BTS' fourth full-length album, "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," which was released in February 2020 and accumulated more than 3.7 million album copies sold, in the most albums sold in the first week of its release.

That also means that "BE," which sold 2.27 million album copies and was released back in November 2020, as well as "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," which accumulated more than 2.13 album copies sold, is the third and fourth highest-selling albums in the first week of release, respectively.

The CD version of "Butter" contains a total of four tracks, including their digital single "Butter" that was released on May 21, as well as their new song "Permision to Dance," and the instrumental version of both the songs.

On the music charts, "Butter" and "Permission to Dance" had seen outstanding results. "Butter" entered Billboard's main singles chart, Hot 100, at No.1 and is currently the longest-running No.1 song by an Asian act, sitting at the No.1 spot of seven weeks in a row.
