Where is 2NE1 Now? These are the Current Activities of the Legendary Girl Group Members

In 2009, the K-Pop industry was graced with the debut of YG Entertainment's four-member girl group, 2NE1. The group went on to become one of the best girl groups in the industry, even becoming the standard of girl groups in K-Pop for their music style, performances, and outfits.

Sadly, the group disbanded in 2016 and has since then left a void in the music scene. Many fans, collectively called Blackjacks, has undoubtedly been missing the group and hoping for a reunion.

Now that 2NE1 has parted ways, what are the members - CL, Minzy, Park Bom, and Sandara Park been up to?

1. CL

Following 2NE1's disbandment, CL continued with her solo career, releasing her single "Lifted," featuring on other artists' songs, such as Lil Yachty's "Surrender" and Black Eyed Peas' "Dopeness," recording the soundtrack "No Better Feelin'" for "My Little Pony: The Movie," and having her solo tour. 

She also released her first extended play, "In the Name of Love," as well as her latest singles "+HWA+," "+5 STAR+," and "Wish You Were Here."

Besides her music career, CL also appeared in commercials and advertisements for numerous brands, with her latest ones being the face of Nike Korea, the global ambassador for Johnny Walker and Beyoncé's fashion line, Ivy Park, as well as collaborating with fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

In addition, she also made her debut as an actress through the 2018 American film, "Mile 22," alongside Mark Wahlberg. In the same year, she also performed at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Currently, CL is preparing to release her first full-album, "Alpha," in mid-August, and signed with Kang Daniel's label, KONNECT Entertainment for her domestic activities.

2. Minzy

Before 2NE1 disbanded, Minzy had departed from YG Entertainment and the group, and signed with Music Works in 2016.

The following year, Minzy became a member of the project girl group, Unnies, from the KBS variety show, "Sister's Slam Dunk."

In 2017, Minzy released her first solo single by lending her voice for the soundtrack of the MBC drama "The Rebel."

She finally made her solo debut with her first extended play, "Minzy Work 01. 'Uno'," with the title track "Ninano."

In 2018, Minzy released her first English single, "All of You Say."

Following her legal dispute with Music Works, and eventually departing from the label, she released her first single "Lovely" as an independent artist.

After some time as an independent artist, Minzy established her own label called MZ Entertainment and signed with Philippines' Viva Entertainment, which allowed her to release made her Philippine debut Tagalog version of "Lovely."

Most recently, Minzy made her comeback on July 11 with her new single "Teamo," as well as appear on MBC Every 1's variety show "South Korean Foreigners."

3. Park Bom

Park Bom made her much-awaited comeback back with her debut single album, "Spring," which features her lead single of the same name in 2019 and former fellow member, Sandara Park. She also released her extended play, "re:Blue Rose," which includes the lead single "4:44" and features MAMAMOO's Wheein.

Since then, she has released singles such as "First Snow," featuring Sandara Park, and covers such as (G)IDLE's "Hann" and BIGBANG Taeyang's "Eyes, Nose, Lips," as well as featuring in other artists' songs and soundtracks.

In December 2020, Park Bom returned from her year-long hiatus following health concerns. Despite that, she had been updating fans regarding her health on her personal Instagram account. 

Park Bom's latest release is "Do Re Mi Fa Sol," featuring Changmo on March 31, 2021.

4. Sandara Park

Sandara Park is definitely one of the most active former member of 2NE1, considering that she works in both South Korea and the Philippines.

Sandara Park's schedule is filled with hosting gigs, modeling for several brands, making guest appearances on numerous TV shows, creating content for her personal Youtube channel - which has over a million followers - and lending her voice to soundtracks and as a featuring artist, such as in two of Park Bom's singles.

Back in 2018, Sandara Park also starred as Jang Bo Ra in the movie remake of "Cheese in the Trap," and made her musical debut back in 2020 in the musical adaptation of the drama "Another Miss Oh," wherein she also lent her voice for the soundtrack.

She was recently a cast member of "ON AIR - The Secret Contract," which aired from March until April 2021.

In May, Sandara Park departed from YG Entertainment.

Sandara Park's current activities are hosting her Youtube channel, and appearing on MCB Every 1's "Video Star," JTBC's "Stage K," and KBS Joy's "Celebeauty."
