AleXa Chosen as Ambassador for Gawangju Design Biennale

Singer AleXa has been chosen as an honorary ambassador for the "Gwangju Design Biennale," which will begin on September 1st.

She will serve as an ambassador for the 9th Gwangju Design Biennale in 2021. This event will be hosted by Gwangju Metropolitan City and will be supervised by the Gwangju Institute of Design Promotion. It will happen from September 1 until October 31.

AleXa is an active singer that comes along with an artificial intelligence identity. This is a concept that comes along with the biennale's theme about digital revolution and connecting humans with technology.

The 9th Gwangju Design Biennale

The event will have five main exhibitions; The theme hall, International Hall, AI Hall, Experience Hall, and the Local Industry Hall. Also, there will be special exhibitions and commemorative exhibitions. Aside from that, there will be International academic events, online markets, experience programs which will consist of a wide variety of events during the 9th Gwangju Design Biennale.

Particularly, the theme of the event was titled "d-revolution," it befits Gwangju, which is an artificial intelligence center that is leading the 4th industrial revolution. This signifies that a revolution in Gwangju is through a design, and not by industrial inventions of the past, but it is through a design.

Gwangju City stated that the debut with an AI concept in K-Pop for the first, they will be appointing AleXa. She is chosen because she is a global artist who is in line with the Gwangju Design Biennale's theme "d-Revolution," or design revolution. She also has high international recognition in the K-Pop field as an ambassador.

The selection of the honorary ambassadors was made through a non-face-to-face interview. Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor Lee Yong-seop and AleXa both gave the plaque and gave their impressions with a video. AleXa stated that she would work hard for the successful hosting of the event as she was chosen to be an ambassador for the Gwangju Design Biennale 2021.

Preparations for the 2021 Gwangju Design Biennale

At the same time, at the Gwangju Design Biennale, around 35 planners, together with general director Kim Hyun-sun, are planning the exhibitions, academic events, and also the public relations by field. To be specific, Sumi Jo, a soprano singer with heaven's voice, will also be an ambassador for the Design Biennale.

Who is AleXa?

AleXa debuted in 2019, and then she rose to the top 5 of iTunes K-Pop charts in 6 countries, namely: the Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, and Belgium. Her successful song is entitled "Bomb." Her other song, "Revolution," in which a world-famous composer group, Dsign Music, participated, was loved by music fans for it has maximized AleXa's strong and charismatic energy.

AleXa is now actively working for her comeback with the new song named "XTRA" after 9 months. She recently formed a special duet collaboration named "DAEDOREXA" with the popular YouTuber Great Library. She also released the summer song "I'm not Alone, Summer (Summer Breeze)" and still continues its promotion. As a result of her hard work, she won the 2020 Asia Artist Awards AAA Focus Award and the 2020 4th Soribada Best K-Music Awards New Hallyu Next Artist Award.
