On August 16, it is reported that Seo Shin Ae, an actress who is allegedly a bullying victim was then again "bullied" by some of Soojin's fans after her withdrawal from (G)I-DLE.

On the 15th, shortly after the news of Soojin's departure from (G)I-DLE was announced, some overseas internet users who are believed to be the female star's supporters visited Seo Shin Ae's YouTube channel and left malicious comments.
Numerous comments of criticism were written, such as, "Why did you ruin our Soojin?," and "Are you now satisfied after ruining someone's career?"
Some overseas fans also added, "Are you satisfied? You ruined one's glory and future," "Why destroy another's future," and "You got everything you wanted, but we lost everything forever."
To these foreign fans' outlandish comments, Korean fans responded to malicious comments by sending words of support and encouragement to Seo Shin Ae.
Some of the encouraging words for the actress include, "I always cheer for you," "See only good things and think only good things," and "Let's walk only on flower paths."

In February 2021, the skyrocketing popularity of (G)I-DLE particularly former member Soojin was hindered after the idol was accused of being a bully during her middle school days.
Soojin and her agency strongly denied it, but it was also re-examined in the past community that she also verbally abused A, a former child actress — and Seo Shin Ae, who is an actress was believed to be the victim.
The actress then strengthened the speculations after she left a message on Instagram, saying, "None of your excuse." As the controversy went on, Seo Shin Ae also wrote numerous revelations on her Instagram and YouTube, confessing that she was bullied for two years.
Although the two celebrities are said to attend the same school before, Soojin denied that they never had any conversation when they were in school.
The agency declared legal action, including criminal charges, saying the allegations were false. But later on, the agency suspended not only the personal activities of Soojin but also the group activities.
On August 14, the female idol completely left the group as the agency Cube Entertainment stated, "We bow our heads to apologize for the controversy over Seo Soojin. We inform you that she has decided to leave the team as of today and the group will re-group as a five-member team."
