JYPn's Jinni Gains Positive Reactions for Her Live Performance and Visual – Is She the Next 'All-rounder' Idol?
Known as the "girl in pink pants," Jinni of JYP Entertainment's upcoming girl group, JYPn is slowly gaining her fans after dropping her own cover of "MAMA." She initially drew attention for her incredible dance skills, but in the video, she also captured the interest of K-pop fans with her live vocals and visual.
On the 20th, the '[JYPn] Mama Cover | QUALIFYING | Eom Taewoong Choreography' video was uploaded on JYPn's official YouTube channel.
In the video, a solo cover video of Jinni was unveiled, a member of the agency's new girl group. The soon-to-debut rookie idol covered Ella Eyre and Banx & Ranx's "MAMA"—showing off powerful live performances.

As soon as the video was uploaded, Jinni who's profile is yet to be released, once again drew attention for her amazing visual.
In her latest performance, the female idol wore a black cropped top and black pants. Her hip fashion is complemented by her space bun hairstyle, revealing her beauty even more.
But aside from Jinni's visual, the TWICE's junior idol also performed a powerful choreography and stable live vocals – like an "all-rounder" idol!
Internet users then responded, "It's a live performance, your expression is good, especially your eyes, and your dance choreography is perfect. I love it."
Some also added, "As expected from JYP, another famous girl group member," "I thought you were only good at dancing 'pink pants' but you're also good at live."
In particular, Jinni previously earned the nickname "girl in pink pants" from K-pop fans after she performed Cardi B's "Press" choreography cover video in that outfit along with other members.
Meanwhile, JYP is delivering news about the new girl group through its SNS channel "JYPn." They did not disclose their members or tracks, but proceeded with pre-sale of the new girl group's album in the form of blind sales, drawing attention. JYP's new girl group is scheduled to debut in February 2022.

On the other hand, JYP Entertainment marks the start of the emergence of new girl groups in the 4th gen K-pop era as they revealed JYPn' members.
In particular, aside from JYP which is home to top girl groups such as Wonder Girls, Miss A, TWICE, ITZY, and NiziU — HYBE, YG Entertainment, and Mnet (CJ ENM) are also planning to launch their girl groups.
Starting with HYBE, it was reported that Bang Si Hyuk along with Min Heejin who raised popular girl groups such as Girls' Generation, f(X), and Red Velvet at SM, created a new team in collaboration with the label Source Music. In fact, it was rumored that three former IZ*ONE members including Chaewon and Sakura will debut under the new girl group.
YG Entertainment, which created girl groups with distinct colors such as 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, will also launch its new girl group five years after BLACKPINK debuted in 2016.
Lastly, expectations for global girl groups that will be created through large audition programs are also continuing. Mnet is broadcasting "Girls Planet 999," which is set to introduce a multinational girl group with nine members.
