SEVENTEEN Jeonghan is one of the male K-pop idols known for his angelic visual and soothing voice. Since his debut, he is recognized for his long hair, which he cut shorter from time to time. Because of his looks, plus Pledis Entertainment artists can freely date, many are convinced that the "HIT" singer may be dating someone.

Agencies of both GFRIEND and SEVENTEEN were acquired by Big Hit Entertainment (now called HYBE), so technically Jeonghan and Sowon are under the same agency until the female idol left Source Music this May and later signed with IOK Company as an actress.
But how did the dating rumors between SEVENTEEN Jeonghan and former GFRIEND Sowon start?

Back in September 2019, SEVENTEEN made a guest appearance on "Idol Room." The hosts asked the boy group to make fan chants for the "Idol 999" group they are putting together on the program.
While Dino was beatboxing, Seungkwan started mentioning names of K-pop idols and a few descriptions about them. He then surprised everyone on the set when he said "My girlfriend Sowon" instead of GFRIEND Sowon.
However, SEVENTEEN Seungkwan's action resulted in the dating rumors between Jeonghan and Sowon instead. The issue eventually surfaced online, shocking many fans. It all began when Korean netizens uploaded several alleged evidence that the two idols are in a relationship. Both netizens and fans are very thorough when it comes to searching for proof about idols dating.

Netizens spread the evidence on the internet and expressed their disappointment since the two were not hiding their relationship carefully.
One of the pieces of evidence netizens showed was footage of SEVENTEEN Jeonghan outside of GFRIEND's waiting room backstage during the 2018 SBS Gayo Daejun. They also claimed that two were showing off their couple items on TV shows and that they look at each other during an awards event in South Korea.
K-netizens also included SEVENTEEN's appearance on "Idol Room" as a shred of evidence, particularly the members' reactions after Seungkwan said "My girlfriend Sowon." They pointed out that other SEVENTEEN members were laughing and glancing at Jeonghan at that time as if they were teasing him.

Some fans also shared that when SEVENTEEN and GFRIEND participated in ISAC, they spotted Jeonghan looking at Sowon. There is also a clip of SEVENTEEN members Joshua and The8 looking at Jeonghan when GFRIEND won an award at a certain ceremony.
Since 2019, the dating rumors between SEVENTEEN Jeonghan and former GFRIEND Sowon have been a hot topic among fans and netizens.
However, no official statement regarding the dating news from the idols and their agencies was released.

SEVENTEEN to Star in Their New Reality Show "In the SOOP"
In other news, SEVENTEEN will star in their own reality show "In the SOOP" ("soop" translates to "forest" in English), which will be composed of eight 60-minute episodes and eight behind-the-scenes videos.
SEVENTEEN's "In the SOOP" is set in a house in the woods and the concept of the show is to spend time in a certain place between daily life and leisure.
"In the SOOP" will be released via Weverse's TVOD service every Sunday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. KST for four weeks, with the first episode set to be broadcast on Aug. 29.
