Miss World Korea is a K-Pop Stan + Loves BLACKPINK
On October 18, the final winner of the 2021 Miss World Korea contest was announced. 21-year-old college student Hong Tae Ra was announced as this year's winner, earning the title of Miss World Korea.
The pageant queen is known for her staggering height of 170cm and her healthy physique and beagle-like personality.
Hong Tae Ra was born in Houston, Texas, USA. However, she is often confused as having been born in South Korea due to her skills in Korean. She revealed that though she was born in the United States, she learned Korean from a young age thanks to her parents. Additionally, watching K-dramas and listening to K-pop helped her learn too.
In particular, Hong Tae Ra listened and memorized TVXQ and Girls' Generation songs growing up.
Hong Tae Ra is currently majoring in business administration at UC Berkley. She also recently signed a contract with IOK Company, a famous entertainment company, following her participation in Miss World Korea.
Though she is majoring in business administration, Hong Tae Ra admits that she is obsessed with singing and dancing nowadays, so she is thinking of changing her major. "When I sing BLACKPINK songs, it feels like the whole world is mine," she said.
Hong Tae Ra also adds that BLACKPINK member Rosé is one of her role models.

Miss World 2021 will be held in Puerto Rico on December 16. When asked what makes her stand out, Hong Tae Ra revealed her strength is her diversity. She has experienced numerous cultures as she spent time in various countries, such as South Korea, the United States, and Japan. She wishes to meet friends from all around the world and spread Korean culture.

BLACKPINK Recent Activities
On October 23 at 2 PM PST, BLACKPINK will appear in the YouTube Original series special Dear Earth. BLACKPINK is the only K-pop artist to be part of the event as special speakers and musical performers. Additionally, BLACKPINK was previously appointed as an advocate for Sustainable Developed Goals by the United Nations on September 20, 2021.
BLACKPINK released the Japanese version of THE ALBUM on August 3, 2021. All the Korean songs received Japanese versions. This Japanese release included 12 different physical editions.
