EXO Chanyeol Makes Donation to 'Snail of Love' to Help Support Deaf Children's Implant Surgery
On October 29, the Snail of Love, a non-profit organization that supports the hearing-impaired children, revealed that EXO's Chanyeol had made a donation to help aid the cost of cochlear implant surgery for deaf children.
Snail of Love also revealed that Chanyeol has been steadily making donations to the organization since the beginning of this year.
Back in January, Chanyeol had applied to become a regular sponsor to Snail of Love, saying that he would like to help support deaf children and aid the costs of their cochlear implant surgery.
While making regular donations every month, Chanyeol also made additional donations that amount to 16 million won (around $16,300 USD) three times back in February, July, and October.
Thanks to Chanyeol's support and regular donations, Snail of Love reported that two deaf children have now gained their hearing abilities. One of the children had undergone surgery for a cochlear implant and is undergoing speech rehabilitation treatments, while the second child is scheduled to undergo the same surgery soon.
"The second most common disability is hearing impairment. Every year, one to two out of 1,000 newborns are born with hearing loss, but even these children can learn to speak and hear after undergoing a cochlear implant surgery," a representative of Snail of Love said.

The representative continued, "His [Chanyeol] interest and donations are a great strength for the families suffering from hearing impairment in these economically difficult circumstances. We would like to thank Park Chanyeol for his warm donations for the deaf children even while he is serving in the military."
Meanwhile, Snail of Love is currently conducting a "Sound Gift" campaign to help support deaf people with cochlear implant surgery and speech rehabilitation treatments.
EXO Chanyeol's Latest Activities
Back on March 29, Chanyeol went into a hiatus for his mandatory military service, and is currently serving as an active duty soldier, with his tenure ending sometime in September 2022.
Prior to his enlistment, Chanyeol starred in the musical road film "The Box," where he performed numerous popular songs from musicians such as Billie Eilish, Coldplay, and Pharell Williams.
Although Chanyeol was already in the military at that time, he was able to participate in EXO's latest mini-album, "Don't Fight the Feeling," which was released in June. He and fellow member Baekhyun had worked and filmed for the album in secret.
Recently in September, Chanyeol was casted in the military musical "The Meisa's Song," which is being held from October 15 to November 27 KST.
More recently, Chanyeol made a surprise appearance on KBS' "Boss in the Mirror."
