Lovelyz' Initial Discussion on Contract Renewal with Woollim Entertainment Was Positive
After months of speculation regarding the status of third generation girl group Lovelyz, their label Woollim Entertainment announced that the group has disbanded after seven years, with all members, except Baby Soul, deciding not to renew their contracts with the label.
Following the announcement of Lovelyz' disbandment, former entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho, who gained attention for being the first one to claim that "Actor K" was Kim Seon Ho, recently posted a new video on his Youtube channel called "The real reason for Lovelyz' disbandment."

In his video, he explains that at the beginning of Lovelyz and Woollim Entertainment's discussions over contract renewal, things were looking good. However, they ultimately disbanded due to a conflict that could not be resolved.
"The Lovelyz members and Woollim Entertainment have been discussing contract renewals for a long time. The atmosphere was good in the beginning. Some of the members said that they would be leaving the company, while some of them said they would stay. Had the label been more proactive, Lovelyz would have been able to stay together even if they didn't have all members," Lee Jin Ho said.

Former Reporter Lee Jin Ho Reveals the Real Reason Why Lovelyz Disbanded
He then revealed that it was the "Last Album" that became the decisive factor for their disbandment.
According to Lee Jin Ho, the members who wanted to leave Woollim Entertainment expressed their desire to release one last album to conclude their activities as Lovelyz together in a beautiful manner. However, there were an unexpected disagreements ahead of the last album.
As a result, the CEO of Woollim Entertainment and the members were not able to resolve their conflicts. Because of the conflict, the members who were initially deciding to stay at the label decided to leave instead.
"The members of Lovelyz had a very strong affection for the group. However, there were two problems: The conflict with the label's CEO and the differences in each member's thoughts about their future," Lee Jin Ho added, explaining that each member has different personalities, hence, their future plans are also very different.
Lee Jin Ho also revealed that the members have been actively contacting and meeting with other labels since three months ago. Some of the members already had solid plans, but the other members continued to meet with as many labels as possible and adjusting the terms of their contracts.

"It is a pity. They were a unique girl group that had the concept of being innocent and delicate. It is even sadder that the group decided to disband when Mijoo was starting to become successful on entertainment programs," Lee Jin Ho concluded.
Meanwhile, Lovelyz last release was their seventh mini-album "Unforgettable" in 2020.
