MAMAMOO Hwasa Goes Solo With New Single 'Guilty Pleasure'
Soloist Hwasa is coming back! The MAMAMOO singer confirmed her solo return with a single "Guilty Pleasure" along with a eerily seductive image teaser.
Hwasa's 'Guilty Pleasure': MAMAMOO Member to Return Solo
On November 11, MAMAMOO Hwasa confirmed her solo comeback by posting a web jacket image of her second single "Guilty Pleasure" through the girl group's official SNS channels.
In the photo, Hwasa appeared with hair that looked slightly wet, and her eyes evoked a mature yet seductive atmosphere.
Upon release of the teaser, Hwasa conveyed a message of sympathy and comfort to the listeners in her own way. This has raised the curiosity on what kind of story she will reveal under the theme of "Guilty Pleasure."
"Guilty Pleasure" is Hwasa's first solo comeback a year and five months since her first mini-album "Maria," released in June last year. At that time, "Maria" swept the top spot on domestic and foreign music charts with her title song of the same name.
Hwasa became the first female solo artist in Korea to top the iTunes Top Albums chart in the United States.

Aside from that, Hwasa created a craze for the "Maria" challenge on TikTok, a global short video platform.

Mnet revealed the nominees for this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards.
The 2021 MAMA made a lot of changes to the categories and the voting method.
The Grand Prize like the Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the year, and also the Bonsangs will be decided by professional judges with a criteria.
The Grand Prize award for Worldwide Icon of the Year and Bonsang award for Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10 will be from the votes of the fans.
MAMAMOO is nominated in one category, Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10.
The 2021 MAMA will broadcast live on December 11 (KST), beginning with the red carpet at 4 PM (KST), then the awards ceremony afterwards at 6 PM (KST).
