Former ‘Girls Planet 999’ Contestant Kawaguchi Yurina Talks About Her Relationship With Kep1er’s Shen Xiaoting
On November 11, former "Girls Planet 999" contestant Kawaguchi Yurina held a live stream on Instagram to answer questions from fans and communicate with her viewers. There, the Japanese trainee responded to questions about Kep1er member Shen Xiaoting.
Kawaguchi Yurina Talks About Her Relationship With Kep1er's Shen Xiaoting
On November 11, just a day before Shen Xiaoting's birthday, Kawaguchi Yurina held a live stream where she communicated with fans and answered their questions. The questions were collected before the live stream and printed out, with Kawaguchi Yurina pulling questions out of the box.

Funnily, one of the questions Kawaguchi Yurina received was "Does Xiaoting exist?" Kawaguchi Yurina laughed at the questions and told viewers that she understood why they asked such a question. Then, finally, Kawaguchi Yurina confirmed that, yes, Shen Xiaoting does exist, adding, "She has an aura like a god."
Kawaguchi Yurina went into detail about her thoughts on Shen Xiaoting, saying, "She is a very good girl. She is beautiful and she has a beautiful heart too. She has a beautiful visual and a pure heart, I often think, 'Wow, she is a goddess.'"

Later on, in the live stream, Kawaguchi Yurina was asked if she was still in touch with Shen Xiaoting. Kawaguchi Yurina confirmed that the two are still close and often share voice messages with each other. When a fan asked for more pictures of the two, Kawaguchi Yurina reassured fans that she would share some photos for Shen Xiaoting's birthday.
Kawaguchi Yurina and Shen Xiaoting's Friendship
Kawaguchi Yurina and Shen Xiaoting were known to be best of friends during "Girls Planet 999." The two were in the same cell (along with Seo Youngeun) and were often seen talking, holding hands, and hugging. In fact, Chinese trainee Ma Yuling said she even spotted the two holding hands on the first day of shooting!
During the show, the two were on the same team twice. The two were in the same group for the Connect Mission, where they performed BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" and were in the same team for the "O.O.O" Mission.
Many had hoped that the two would debut together. During the first elimination rankings of the show, Kawaguchi Yurina ranked first while Shen Xiaoting ranked second, making it seem entirely possible for the two to debut together. Sadly, Kawaguchi Yurina ranked 14th place in the finale, making her unable to debut in Kep1er. Meanwhile, Shen Xiaoting ranked ninth, securing her spot in the debut line-up. Kawaguchi Yurina returned to Japan days after the finale.
However, it seems that the two still have a pretty strong bond. Following the finale, Kawaguchi Yurina shared several photos with Shen Xiaoting to her Instagram, proving their bond. Furthermore, for Shen Xiaoting's birthday, Kawaguchi Yurina shared photobooth prints of the two together to her Instagram Story.
