TWICE's 'Formula of Love: O+T=<3' Surpasses 'Taste of Love' as the 2021 Girl Group Album with Highest 1st Day Sales
TWICE's third full album, "Formula of Love: O+T=<3," has recorded the new highest first-day sales among 2021 girl groups, surpassing their previous album, "Taste of Love."

On Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. KST, TWICE officially released their highly-anticipated third full album, "Formula of Love: O+T=<3," which contains a total of 17 songs, including the title track "SCIENTIST."
"Formula of Love: O+T=<3" comes after the release of the JYP girl group's first English-language single, "The Feels," in October of this year.
As of 4 p.m. KST on the same day, TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" already sold more than 78,000 copies on the Hanteo Chart. It went on to exceed 154,000 copies only 20 minutes later.

The full album eventually surpassed 200,000 copies as of 6:20 p.m. KST, recording a total of 237,265 copies sold.
At the end of the day, TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" sold an impressive total of 238,631 copies on Hanteo, becoming their second-highest first-day sales in their career.
The JYP girl group's album with the highest first-day sales to date is "MORE & MORE" with more than 274,000 copies.

Moreover, TWICE has broken the record for the highest first-day sales on Hanteo for a 2021 girl group album, which was previously set by their own album "Taste of Love.
Previously, the JYP girl group's tenth EP, "Taste of Love," sold 180,236 copies on June 11, so this means "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" recorded over 58,000 copies more than the mini-album.
So far, only TWICE's third full album has a first-day sales amount, with more than 200,000 copies among the girl group albums released this year.

In other news, the title song "SCIENTIST" from TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" is garnering much attention on YouTube.
On the day of its release, TWICE's "SCIENTIST" MV earned the most views among the K-pop music videos. It accumulated more than 7.06 million views, becoming the only MV by a K-pop artist to do so on Nov. 12.
Concerning the song's chart performance, it landed on not only domestic charts but also international charts.

In South Korea, TWICE's "SCIENTIST" debuted on different Korean music charts, particularly on Bugs at No. 2 and Genie at No. 70. It also entered MelOn's real-time chart at No. 41 and went on to reach No. 11 on MelOn's Top 100 chart. Additionally, the song debuted on FLO at No. 96.
Over on iTunes Song Chart, "SCIENTIST" has scored two No. 1s, so far, in Mongolia and Moldova. It also entered at No. 28 in Japan.
Meanwhile, TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" reached No. 1 on iTunes Album charts in six countries such as Taiwan, Qatar, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Hong Kong as of Nov. 12.
The full album also charted inside the Top 3 in Vietnam and Malaysia and debuted at No. 15 in Canada, No. 22 in the United States, and No. 59 in the United Kingdom.
