NCT Announces Comeback as a Full Group with Third Full-Length Album 'Universe'
On November 13 KST, NCT's label SM Entertainment announced that all of the NCT units, such as NCT 127, NCT DREAM, and WayV, will be uniting once again to form this year's NCT 2021 by sharing a blueprint for an unknown structure on the group's official social media.
According to the blueprint, NCT will be releasing their third full-length album called "Universe" on December 14, KST. However, no other further details given yet.
"Universe" will be NCT's first release in about one year and two months, following the release of their second full-length album "Resonance" back in October of last year.
NCT had proven their strong global popularity, as "Resonance Pt.1" had topped Billboard's World Albums chart Independent Albums chart.
Not only that, but the album had also peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart and Tastemaker Albums chart. While it peaked at No. 5 on the Top Heatseekers chart.
In particular, "Resonance Pt.1" had peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's main album chart, Billboard 200, and stayed on the chart for a total of nine weeks.

It also charted on the Official Digital Albums chart in the United Kingdom, peaking at No. 36.
With NCT's success both domestically and globally with their latest releases, all eyes are on their upcoming album and how it would fare on music charts around the world.
Meanwhile, "Universe," which will be released on December 14, will start accepting pre-orders at various online and offline music stores from November 22 KST.

Back in March, WayV released their third mini-album "Kick Back," featuring the lead single of the same name. "Kick Back" became WayV's first album to rank No. 1 on Gaon's Album chart, which eventually earned the group their first platinum certification after selling more than 250,000 album copies.
WayV also sang the official soundtrack "Everytime" for the Chinese drama "Falling Into Your Smile."
NCT DREAM also released their first full-length album "Hot Sauce" back in May. "Hot Sauce" became a mega-success after the album had surpassed 1.7 million pre-orders, a 243 percent increase from their sales for the 2020 mini-album "Reload."

"Hot Sauce" eventually sold more than two million copies, earning NCT DREAM the "double million-seller" title. The group also released the repackaged album "Hello Future," which sold more than a million copies. This means that the cumulative album sales of "Hot Sauce" and "Hello Future" surpassed three million, making NCT DREAM a "triple million-seller."
Lastly, NCT 127 sold over 2.4 million copies for their third full-length album "Sticker," released in September and charting at No. 3 on Billboard 200.
In October, the repackaged album of "Sticker" called "Favorite," featuring the lead single "Favorite (Vampire)," had sold more than 1.1 million copies. As of November 3, "Sticker" and "Favorite" have cumulative album sales of 3.58 million, making it the best-selling album among SM Entertainment artists.
