NCT Unveils Group Teaser for Upcoming Album 'Universe'

Expectations Arise with NCT's 'UNIVERSE' Group Teaser
SM Entertainment, NCT's agency, unveiled the group's first teaser for their upcoming third album, "UNIVERSE."
On November 16, the agency stated NCT's 3rd full-length album "UNIVERSE" will be released on December 14. This means it will be unveiled a year and two months since their 2nd regular album "RESONANCE" (released in October 2020).

In the image, the members are seen sporting different blue, black, and white outfits while descending down a long zigzag escalator.
Also, the image shows that 21 out of 23 current NCT members will be participating in the album with Lucas currently on hiatus and Winwin filming abroad.
NCT has reunited to wrap up their journey this year. For the first time in over a year, NCT (which consists of sub groups NCT 127, NCT DREAM, NCT U, and WayV) will release a new full-length album.

NCT proved their strong brand power by becoming a double million seller with their 2nd full-length album, first in the domestic album chart, and in the US "Billboard 200" chart in just nine weeks.
Strong global popularity has been proven by NCT as "Resonance Pt.1" topped Billboard's World Album chart and Independent Album Chart.

Aside from that, the album had also risen to the second spot of Billboard's Top Album Sales chart and Tastemaker Albums chart. Then, it went on the fifth spot of the Top Heatseekers chart.
Particularly, "Resonance Pt. 1" had placed itself on the sixth spot on Billboard's main album chart, Billboard 200, then it remained on the chart for nine consecutive weeks.
NCT pursued different activities this year: WayV's 3rd mini-album "Kick Back" in March, NCT Dream's first full-length album "Hot Sauce'' last May, and NCT 127's 3rd full-length album "Sticker" in September. Because of their colorful albums, NCT made global hits this year.
The album also made it to the Official Digital Albums chart in the United Kingdom, taking the 36th spot.

With NCT's success both globally and domestically with their latest releases, music fans now anticipate highly the group's upcoming album and how it would perform on worldwide music charts.
WayV Lucas & Winwin Excluded from NCT Promotions
It is clearly seen that WayV Lucas does not appear on the uploaded teaser image and other activities by WayV and NCT.
Last August, WayV Lucas was entangled in a scandal where different unnamed women claimed that they are his ex-girlfriends, who then claimed the idol gaslighted them and took their money.
SM Entertainment then stated Lucas would sit out his activities.
Meanwhile, his fellow member Winwin is also excluded from the upcoming NCT album as he is busy filming his movie in China.
