Goo Hara's older brother announced that artworks painted by the late Goo Hara herself would be auctioned off, with its proceeds to be donated to charity.

Goo Hara's Paintings to be Auctioned Off and Proceeds to be Donated

On November 15, the late Goo Hara's older brother, Goo Ho In, announced through his social media that the former KARA member's oil paintings that were painted by Goo Hara herself years ago would be auctioned off.

According to Goo Ho In, about 10 of Goo Hara's paintings will be available at the auction, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organization in Tokyo, Japan called "Florence" to support child welfare activities and children who are growing up in households with single parents.

Beginning from November 24 until December 10, "Colors of Hara Goo" will release one painting per day to auction off and will only be available for seven days.

In addition, those who are interested in purchasing Goo Hara's painting can purchase the artwork through NFTs, with NFT buyers able to own the actual work.

Accompanying the announcement is a short description saying, "The brighter the light, the brighter a person shines. The bright the light, the darker a person's shadow. Shadows are also a part of people. Even now, I want to hug Hara's shadow. If you want to hug Hara's shadow, please come to see Hara's work."

Back on November 24, 2019, Goo Hara was found dead in her home in Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam, Seoul. According to police reports, Goo Hara's manager was unable to contact the singer and eventually visited her at home, where her body was discovered.

Police concluded that there was no foul play, and ruled it as a suicide with a suicide note discovered. Goo Hara's death occurred a month after fellow idol and close friend, f(x)'s Sulli, committed suicide.

Following her death, Goo Hara's brother went into a legal battle with their estranged mother, with the latter fighting to receive Goo Hara's inheritance. The legal battle, along with the petitions from fans, created the "Goo Hara Act" that was approved by the National Assembly.
