Mnet Reveals Possibility of Reuniting 'Produce 101' Groups I.O.I, IZ*ONE and X1 in the Future
With Wanna One making a reunion for their special performance at the 2021 MAMA, Mnet reveals that they are open for other "Produce 101" groups to reunite as well.

Mnet Speaks Up on Wanna One's Reunion at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards
On November 16, Mnet held a global press conference at the Westin Josun Hotel in Seoul where they discussed Wanna One's highly-anticipated reunion.
Previously on November 15, it was confirmed that Wanna One, the project boy group formed through the second season of Mnet's "Produce 101" series, will be reuniting for the first time in three years since their disbandment for a special performance at this year's Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

However, while many are excited to see Wanna One once again, their reunion is also met with criticism as they were revealed to have been one of the groups whose votes were tampered with by Mnet during "Produce 101 Season 2."
In addition, the announcement of Wanna One's reunion was made after Mnet's CP Kim Yong Beom and PD Ahn Joon Young - who were behind the voting manipulation - were released from prison.

'Produce 101' season 1 debut group, I.O.I
Regarding the issue, Mnet's CP Park Chan Wook said, "Wanna One's reunion is much anticipated because they will be reuniting for a performance at MAMA. The producers are preparing and giving various ideas to live up to the excitement [of the reunion]. We will present a stage that is like a gift to audiences from all around the world."

Media outlet Dispatch also shared an interview with an official from CJ ENM, who revealed the possibility of reuniting "Produce 101" groups I.O.I, IZ*ONE and X1 in the future.
Talking about Wanna One's reunion, the official said, "The members of Wanna One wanted to do a performance, so we decided for a special performance. We can't force anything. We coordinated with each other."

"Like Wanna One, we are ready to support other groups (I.O.I, IZ*ONE, X1) whenever they want to perform. We believe we have a responsibility for that," the official added.

However, the possibility received mixed reactions. While many are hoping to see the members of I.O.I, IZ*ONE and X1 together again, many are also unhappy due to the groups' involvement in the voting manipulation.
Meanwhile, the 2021 MAMA will be taking place on December 11 KST.
