Former Lovelyz Baby Soul to Use Her Real Name in Her Future Promotions with Woollim Entertainment

On Nov. 17, Woollim Entertainment officially announced that Baby Soul had changed her activity name to her real name, which is Lee Su Jeong.

Using her real name, the former Lovelyz member will open a new chapter of her career as a singer. She is expected to build a stronger career through her unique music color.

On the same of the announcement, Woollim Entertainment shared new profile photos for Lee Su Jeong on their official social media accounts.

Lee Su Jeong made her solo debut under the stage name "Baby Soul" back in November 2011 with the digital single "Stranger." She later re-debuted in the company's female unit duo called "Baby Soul + Yoo Ji Ah" in January 2012. Two years later, she made her third debut as a member of Lovelyz in November with the group's first album "Girls' Invasion." She also served as the team's leader and one of the main vocalists.

In addition to being recognized for her outstanding singing ability and her unique tone, former Lovelyz member Baby Soul also possesses high-level rap skills. Lee Su Jeong is the only Lovelyz member out of the eight members to renew her contract with Woollim Entertainment. As a result, the group had disbanded on Nov. 16 when the seven members' exclusive contracts with the agency expired.

Lee Soo Jung's Music Releases as Baby Soul

Following her solo debut as Baby Soul in November 2011, Lee Su Jeong released more songs either as a soloist, a featuring artist, or as part of a group. Prior to her debut, she became a featuring artist in "Crying," one of the B-side tracks from INFINITE's album "Over the Top." She sang this song with Dongwoo and Hoya.

In 2013, Baby Soul was again featured in INFINITE's song, titled "Fly High," a track from INFINITE H's debut EP "Fly High."

In April 2019, the former Lovelyz member made her first-ever comeback since her solo debut with her second digital single, "A Piece of the Moon." The track was premiered at Lovelyz's concert "Lovelyz 3 of Winter World" in February of the same year.

Baby Soul wrote "A Piece of the Moon," which serves as a gift to the fans for their support. The song is a medium tempo ballad that the female idol wrote and composed to comfort herself in the difficult times, and a song that she hopes will also give comfort to the fans.

This year, Lee Su Jeong was one of the 62 singers who lent her voice for "2021 Now N New," the single released by the Korea Entertainment Producers' Association with the hope to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. It is actually a new version of the 1999 song of the same name.

Then, in August, the former Lovelyz member was featured in "Amigo," a B-side song from Kwon Eunbi's debut mini-album "OPEN."
