MAMAMOO Moonbyul Reveals She Thought Her Idol Career is Over After Hitting 30 Years Old

Back on November 24, MAMAMOO's rapper Moonbyul joined the SBS variety program "Girls Scoring a Goal" as a new member of the show.

In an interview held prior to Moonbyul participating in the first filming, the "You're the Best" rapper revealed the reason why she decided to join "Girls Scoring a Goal."

According to Moonbyul, she couldn't help but think if her life as a member of a K-Pop girl group was over the moment she turned 30 years old in Korean age.

She added that it's been seven years since she and MAMAMOO debuted and entered the K-Pop industry and that there are so many groups making their debut each year.

However, thinking positively, Moonbyul also thought that this might be the start of something new for her. "But at the same time, I thought that maybe this was the moment that the second half of my career is starting," Moonbyul said.

"Ever since that thought came to me, I have been trying my best to keep thinking that way," the rapper added.

She then shared the plans that she wants to show to the world during the second half of her career.

"In the first half of my career, I feel like I have mostly shown myself as part of a group [MAMAMOO]. But in the second half of my career, I want to show everyone who I am," Moonbyul shares.

She also added that she wants to show the world what she likes doing and what she is good at. "I am really an energetic, outgoing, fun, and playful person," she said.

And because of that intention, she decided to join "Girls Scoring a Goal," where she could unleash her true self to everyone.

Meanwhile, Moonbyul debuted as the rapper of MAMAMOO back in June 2014. Since then, they have been recognized as one of the top and popular female K-Pop groups.

MAMAMOO Moonbyul Reveals She's Working on Her Solo Album

In an interview with Singles Magazine, Moonbyul excites fans by revealing the she is currently working on a new solo album.

She started off by saying the changes she experienced after becoming the host of Naver NOW's "Studio Moon Light," which developed her social skills, and that she can now lead a conversation with anyone despite meeting for the first time - all thanks to greeting guests on the show!

And regarding her solo comeback, Moonbyul said, "I have been busy working on my solo album these days. I think it will give me a chance to fully show my emotional and sentimental side."
