SM Entertainment Announces SuperM Counterpart 'Girls On Top' with BoA, SNSD, Red Velvet and aespa Members
On December 27 at midnight KST, SM Entertainment excited fans when they announced the launch of their new girl group, upcoming female supergroup and SuperM's counterpart, Girls On Top, through the newly created social media accounts of the girl group.
In the announcement, SM Entertainment shares the group's first photo, which features the members of Girls On Top: "Star of Asia" BoA, Girls' Generation (SNSD) members Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet's Wendy and Seulgi, and monster rookie aespa's Karina and Winter.
Along with the announcement, SM Entertainment also revealed that Girls On Top, or "GOT" for short, will be holding a special stage performance on January 1 of next year, which could potentially be during SMTOWN's upcoming 2022 online concert "SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @KWANGYA ."

Whereas the supergroup's new song will be officially released a few days after their special stage on January 3 at 6pm KST.
Meanwhile, the debut of Girls On Top would mark SM Entertainment's second supergroup following SuperM's launch back in October 2019.

Described as the "Avengers of K-Pop" due to the seasoned members part of its lineup, SuperM consists of seven members from SM Entertainment's top boy groups: EXO's Kai and Baekhyun, SHINee's Taemin, and NCT members Ten, Mark, and Lucas.
The group has so far released two albums, "SuperM" and "Super One," and saw success on both domestic and international music charts, and even went on their first tour "SuperM: We Are the Future Live" around North America, Latin America, and Europe.

With SuperM's achievements around the world, it can be expected that Girls On Top would also see a similar amount of success due to its stunning lineup of members featuring the members of top girl groups.

SM Entertainment to Hold Online Concert 'SMTOWN LIVE 2022 : SMCU EXPRESS @KWANGYA'
In other news, SM Entertainment will be holding a live online concert on January 1, titled "SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @KWANGYA," which will feature the label's artists as they come together to perform at the SMCU Express Station in the fictional KWANGYA.
