Kep1er Hits 1 Million Followers on TikTok Following Release of Debut Album 'First Impact'
On January 4, 2022, Kep1er official TikTok hit one million followers, an impressive feat for a group that debuted just the day before.
The videos that can be seen on their account are dance challenges of their song "WA DA DA," their New Year countdown, and various dance practice videos.
The group's TikTok account was launched in November 2021, and as of January 4, it has 1.4 million followers and 11.9 million likes.
Kep1er Talks About Their Debut
Kep1er is a project group composed of members picked through Mnet's survival audition program "Girls Planet 999: Girls' "War," which ended last October 2021.
The group includes members Choi Yu Jin, Sakamoto Mashiro, Shen Xiao Ting, Kim Chae Hyun, Kim Da Yeon, Ezaki Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Young Eun, and Kang Ye Seo. Formerly, Kep1er was supposed to debut in December, but was rescheduled due to COVID-19.
Finally, after their supposed debut on December 14, 2021 was postponed, the group finally met their fans officially on January 3, 2022. The new girl group also held an online showcase on their debut day to celebrate.
During the show, Yujin said, "We approached our debut with the mindset of absolutely not disappointing the fans who had been with us since 'Girls Planet 999.'"
About the group's color, she added, "I'm a bit cautious about pinning down her identity yet, but I hope that Kep1er can become a bright group that gives people strength."
They were asked about what makes them different from other 4th-Gen idol groups, then Hikaru answered it's their energy and performance. She added they have the energy of people running to catch their dreams and they will showcase the said energy to their upcoming performances.

Out of all the members, Yujin previously debuted in CLC while Yeseo came from Busters.
Yeseo shared, "Since we'd known each other since the show and gotten close, we were able to have a lot of conversations together. We worked hard to talk and communicate with each other."
Meanwhile, Kim Chae Hyun had been a trainee at SM Entertainment. This is where she had known the members of aespa.
She said, "The aespa sunbaenims sent me a message congratulating me and saying, 'Soon we'll be able to see each other in the waiting rooms at the broadcasters. They're so busy that I haven't been able to see them recently, but I'm excited to see them at the TV stations."
Kep1er Reveals The Second-Generation Idol Group They Look Up To
The group also shared who their role model is, and it's the Girls' Generation!
Coincidentally, the master of Girls Planet 999, Tiffany Young, is a member of the Girls' Generation.
Kep1er stated that each one of the members of Girls' Generation has different personalities and charms that mix well, especially when they perform together.
Kep1er's debut album "FIRST IMPACT" is an album that launches the wide worldview of "Kep1er," together with the colorful personalities of the nine members. Their title song "WA DA DA" is a song that depicts the dignified aspirations of girls that have energetic and lovely charms.
