HYBE Labels Artists Dominate the 2021 Gaon Album Retail Chart
According to the "2021 Annual Album Chart" released on January 7 by Gaon Chart, an official Korean music chart, HYBE Labels artists such as BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, and SEVENTEEN made a total of 26 albums in the Top 100. It recorded 15,2313.9 million copies sold annually. This corresponds to 33.5% of the total album sales in the Top 100.
BTS topped the annual album chart for six years in a row. Their single "Butter" topped the annual album chart in 2021 with sales of 2,999,407 copies. In addition, 15 albums released by BTS before 2021 sold 4,352,311 copies, and the septet recorded a total of 7,351,718 copies, becoming the artist with the most album sales based on Gaon Chart in 2021.
SEVENTEEN, on the other hand, ranked two albums in the top 10 with "Attacca" and "Your Choice," recording 4th and 6th respectively. They recorded sales of 3,674,551 copies in 2021 with three albums, including "An Ode." Aside from that, the albums recorded sales of 2,059,073 copies for "Attacca" and 1,462,405 copies of "Your Choice." The group also ranked 2nd in total album sales by an artist in 2021.

ENHYPEN has taken 9th place on the annual album chart with their 1st full-length album "DIMENSION: DILEMMA." With this album, ENHYPEN recorded a cumulative sales of 1,205,949 copies, achieving an unprecedented "million-seller" title in their second year of debut. The group recorded a total annual sales of 2,184,232 copies, ranking in the Top 100 with "BORDER: CARNIVAL" and "BORDER: DAY ONE."
Meanwhile, TOMORROW X TOGETHER has three albums: "Chaos Chapter: FREEZE" which sold 877,917 copies on 15th, "Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" with 775,121 copies on 16th, "Minisode1: Blue Hour" with 161,879 copies at 69th. It has sold over two million copies in total.
In addition, NU'EST's 2nd full-length album "Romanticize" ranked 54th on the Top 100 with 205,972 copies sold.
Impressive Performance from HYBE Labels Artists in 2021
In the "Annual Retail Album Chart," HYBE Labels artists swept 1st to 3rd place. BTS' "Butter" took 1st place, and SEVENTEEN's "Attacca" and "Your Choice" took 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Besides "Butter," BTS also ranked "BE" and "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 THE JOURNEY" from their 4th Japanese album.
In addition, ENHYPEN's "DIMENSION: DILEMMA" took 8th place and "BORDER: CARNIVAL" at 17th. TOMORROW X TOGETHER's "Chaos Chapter: FREEZE" in 11th place, "Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" took 16th spot, and NU'EST's "Romanticize" made it to 42nd place. These placements in the chart proved the powerful performance of HYBE Labels artists.
The performances of HYBE Labels artists stood out on the download charts and streaming charts as well. In the download chart, in addition to BTS, which uploaded seven songs, including Jin's "Yours," SEVENTEEN charted three songs, while NU'EST, Fromis 9, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER also entered the rankings.
