Yuju Shares What It's Like Without Her Fellow GFRIEND Members Now That She's Going Solo

Yuju guested on "Showterview with Jessi" and shared what it's like to be a solo artist after being a member of GFRIEND for six years. 

Yuju Reveals How She Is Doing Now Without Her Fellow GFRIEND Members

On Jan. 18, Yuju officially took her first step as a solo artist. She released her first mini-album "REC." under her new agency KONNECT Entertainment (a label that Kang Daniel founded). She is one of the four former GFRIEND members who continued her career as a singer along with Eunha, SinB and Umji, who will soon debut together as a unit called VIVIZ.

On Jan. 20, Yuju appeared on the latest episode of "Showterview with Jessi" This is her first schedule since she debuted as a soloist.

At the beginning of the episode, Jessi she asked the former GFRIEND member how she feels about being a solo artist. Yuju responded, "Most of all when I'm in a car.. when I was with the members, it used to be noisy and crowded. It feels weird that I'm alone in a van now."

Jessi sympathized with her by adding, "And you should be on standby all by yourself," to which Yuju agreed on.

In the middle of the recent "Showterview with Jessi" episode, Jessi gave several questions concerning Yuju. She again asked her how she feels about going solo.

Yuju answered, "Little nervous.. But, I can do it." Jessi rooted for her by saying, "You can! Yes, you can!"

The KONNECT artist was then asked to share what her plans are as a soloist. She replied that she plans to make good music and meet the fans.

Regarding the creation of Yuju's solo album "REC.," the female idol was asked if she didn't get stressed while working on it. She revealed that she enjoyed working on the album despite experiencing stress.

Yuju said, "There are two kinds of stress I guess. The one that irritates you and the one that makes you feel good. And this time, it was a good one, so I enjoyed it."

Toward the end of the latest "Showterview with Jessi" episode, Yuju was asked to give a message to her GFRIEND members.

She said, "It needs no explanation, 'cause we know each other so well. I always feel grateful for your support. I'll do my best to be the one who you can feel proud of. So, I won't let you down. Fighting!"

Yuju's "Play" Debuts on Korean Music Charts + "REC." Lands on Several iTunes Album Charts

In related news, Yuju's solo album "REC." and its title track "Play" are both receiving love from fans around the world.

In South Korea, "Play" entered a few daily music charts for Jan. 18. The song debuted at No. 11 on Bugs and No. 164 on MelOn. It also landed on real-time charts: No. 6 on Bugs and No. 157 on Genie. Three days later, the track entered VIBE at No. 592.

On Jan. 19, Yuju's solo album "REC." ranked No. 1 on iTunes Album charts in five countries and charted within the top 10 in more than 15 countries.
