EXO D.O Embroiled in a Dating Rumor with Girl's Day Sojin in Early 2014
In early 2014, a rumor about EXO member D.O and Girl's Day member Sojin being in a relationship made rounds online, with the most proof being couple items and secret messages.
Netizens claimed that D.O and Sojin were dating as the two were seen wearing identical sneakers and rings, although in separate events and locations. They also pointed out that the EXO member chose "All of Me" as his favorite song just a few days after Sojin sang the said track at Girl's Day's concert.

Moreover, netizens alleged that EXO D.O and Girl's Day Sojin went on a fishing date after finding similarities between D.O and a man behind Sojin.
Further, Sojin shared during an interview that her first love resides in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, which happens to be the location of EXO's dorm.
After months passed by, the dating rumor about EXO D.O and Girl's Day Sojin died down. However, it came back to light in January 2015 after netizens discovered Sojin's Instagram post made in March 2014. The post shows a photo of her nail art.

Sojin's right middle finger captured fans' attention after it was seen with the design "I <3 DO" or "I DO," which appears to be an expression of love for D.O. Because of this assumption, the Instagram post spread on different online communities. Some EXO-Ls then expressed their anger by leaving malicious comments on the Girl's Day member's Instagram posts. After that, Girl's Day Sojin made her Instagram account private.

In July 2015, Girl's Day guested on the radio show "Old School" and Sojin was asked about her ideal type. She shared that she likes a nice man who is also stubborn. She added that the looks don't matter to her and that she likes a person with a big mouth. She went on to say that she looks at the guy's eyes a lot and that she doesn't mind the height.
Sojin's answer was later shared to a Korean blog and many netizens commented that she was describing D.O.

In September 2015, a netizen shared a photo on an online community that added fuel to the dating rumor surrounding EXO D.O and Girl's Day Sojin. The picture is deemed as another piece of evidence that the two are in a relationship.

The image shows a man and a woman buying at a store together. Although their faces can't be seen, the netizen who made the post claimed that it's D.O and Sojin in the photo. The netizen alleged that the outfit the woman is wearing is the same as the clothes that the Girl's Day member wore in the past.
The poster also stated that even though many fans say the woman in the picture Kim Sohyun, who was filming "Pure Love" with EXO D.O, the woman is actually Girl's Day Sojin.
Did EXO D.O Date Girl's Day Sojin?
The dating rumor of EXO member D.O and Girl's Day member Sojin went on for two years. However, the two didn't address the issue and their respective companies didn't release an official statement regarding it.
This means it is uncertain whether D.O and Sojin did date each other. Because there was no confirmation or denial, the rumor eventually subsided and remained a rumor.
