Mnet Reportedly in Discussion With ITZY for 'Queendom 2' Appearance
On February 4 KST, industry insiders divulged that Mnet is currently in talks with various girl groups to cast them as participants in the upcoming new season of "Queendom."
According to reports, Mnet is currently discussing with groups, such as Brave Girls, VIVIZ, Kep1er, and ITZY.

Shortly after reports on the possible lineup was made, the production staff for "Queendom 2" released a statement. They stated that while it is true that they are looking into several options for girl groups on the show, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
In addition, Mnet is currently in the final stages of negotiating with the different girl groups regarding various details.
MIDZYs Demand ITZY Not to Participate in Mnet's 'Queendom 2'
Following reports of the possible lineup of "Queendom 2," ITZY's fans, MIDZYs, were not happy.
MIDZYs immediately took to social media to trend the hashtag "#NOtoITZYonQueendom," demanding on Twitter that ITZY do not participate in the show.

Many of the fans expressed their anger towards Mnet, citing that the major broadcasting station is only using them for views.
They have also mentioned how ITZY was "robbed" by Mnet during the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), and that they have been treated poorly since their debut back in February 2019.
However, many have also pointed out that being on "Queendom 2," or in any competition show, isn't what ITZY needs right now, as not only could it take a toll on their self-esteem, mental and physical health, but they would rather have the group focus on resting.

In addition, they called out JYP Entertainment to focus on giving ITZY better promotions, and creating a stronger and bigger fanbase in South Korea.
They also want ITZY to have better promotions when they have a comeback, and to have fanmeets and go on world tours.

"Rather than having ITZY join Queendom, why not focus more on how to give better promotions and have a bigger and stronger fanbase in Korea first? I think this will help ITZY more."
"I really hope that JYPE doesn't let them participate. Mnet has mistreated the girls a lot of times and I don't want them to be used just for clout."
"Mnet has mistreated ITZY a lot of times. Really what's the point of ITZY joining Queendom? We won't let the girls to do a charity work again for their boring show. Just free the girls we've already had enough of your dirty games Mnet."
Meanwhile, "Queendom 2" is set to premiere on March 31 at 9:20pm KST, with Girls' Generation's Taeyeon serving as this season's host.
