One certain video captured the attention of K-pop fans as Hwang Daeheon mentioned a popular K-pop idol in it, particularly a BLACKPINK member. The video was uploaded this past August and has now garnered over 370,000 views.

The video was actually the content of Kwak Yoongy, another short-track speed skater, on his YouTube channel. In the latter part of the nine-minute video, Yoongy asked the 2022 Winter Olympics gold medalist if there's anyone he would like to receive support from.
Showing a big smile, Hwang Daeheon answered that he would like to get support from BLACKPINK Jennie.

Kwak playfully commented, "Maybe you should try to ask Jennie out on a date after the Olympics," causing Hwang to burst into laughter and ask if that's even possible to happen.
The 2022 Winter Olympics gold medalist continued that he would like to go to BLACKPINK's concert one day. He also shared that he loves listening to the girl group's music and that he listens to their songs all the time.

Toward the end of the video, Kwak Yoongy asked Hwang Daeheon to send a video message to BLACKPINK Jennie. Hwang just shyly laughed in response and later said, "Bye I'm running away" as he walked away from his co-athlete.

"Shinigami Eyes" makes a reference to the well-known Japanese manga "Death Note" where the main character named Light acquires the ability to see both the names and lifespans of the people around him.
BLACKPINK Jennie and Grimes sent fans into a frenzy back in July 2021 when they shared photos of them in front of a SpaceX rocket. These pictures appear to be their hint at their collab for the "Shinigami Eyes" MV.
