fromis_9 Saerom was slammed for careless words during the beginning of a V Live stream. However, the idol has since stepped up to reveal what she actually meant.

On February 11, some members of fromis_9 gathered together to host a live stream via Naver's V Live. At the start of the stream, leader Saerom appears not to realize she is on air and is heard making allegedly careless statements before commencing the stream.

As she talks to her members, the idol is heard saying, "I am so sick if. I want to go home as quickly as possible."

After making the comment, her members quickly realized that the stream had begun. Her members appeared to inform her that they were live, and after a moment of silence, Saerom composed herself and did the group's greeting for viewers at home.

The clip of Saerom saying those "careless" statements quickly made their rounds on South Korean community forums and social media sites. The idol was slammed, with people assuming that Saerom was complaining about being "sick" of going on live stream for her fans.

Saerom received backlash over her alleged lousy attitude. People asked her to stop being an idol and quit, while others expressed pity for the fans who spent money trying to promote fromis_9 only for a member to come out and say they were "sick of it."

Others said that she should practice her live singing and dancing instead of doing live broadcasts.

Following the criticisms, Saerom quickly took to fromis_9's Weverse account to explain her side of the situation.

During her statement, the idol revealed that she had come out of self-isolation before the broadcast started and was catching up with her members. She revealed that she was "dead sick of" not going outside during the quarantine. She then explained why she said she wanted to go home quickly, stating that she remained in quarantine until another member, Seoyeon, tested negative.

She revealed that she wanted to go home as soon as possible because she was worried about Seoyeon.

The idol acknowledged that without context, her words could spark misunderstanding. She apologized to the fans for causing such a big shock and promised to be more aware in the future.

Her whole statement reads:

Hello. This is fromis_9's Saerom. I decided to write this message for flovers because I wanted to explain some statements that I made at the start of yesterday's live stream.

Before the live stream started, I had come out of self-isolation, and I was catching up with the members I had not seen in a while. The members and I typically spend most of our time with each other. When I first went into self-isolation, I enjoyed having all the time to myself. However, it soon became frustrating not being able to go outside. This is why I said I was 'sick of it.' Additionally, I want to note that while the recommended self-isolation is seven days at the moment, I had to remain in self-isolation until Seoyeon tested negative. Since Seoyeon and I share the same home, our dorm, I have not been able to 'go home for a while. I said that I wanted to 'go home as quickly as possible not only because I missed our dorm but also because I was worried about Seoyeon.

I understand how, without context, what I said could have started a misunderstanding. However, I should have been more careful, especially since it was the first live stream for flovers in a while. I am sorry for being tactless and causing such a big shock. In the future, I promise to be more careful, and I promise to be on the air more often!
