Former Wonder Girls Member Hyerim Reveals She Was Actually Supposed to Debut With Miss A
Former Wonder Girls member Hyerim made a guest appearance on the March 2 episode of KBS' variety program "Godfather," alongside her fellow former Wonder Girls member and leader, Sunye.
During this episode, the two former bandmates talked about their time as Wonder Girls. In particular, Hyerim talked about when she first joined the group back in 2010, and revealed that she was actually supposed to make her debut as Miss A!

"I was actually training to make my debut as a member of Miss A. I actually had no idea that I would be joining Wonder Girls too. I really wanted to do well, but I wasn't prepared at all," Hyerim said.
As she recalled her beginnings as Wonder Girls, Hyerim couldn't help but tear up a bit. She explained, "When I had just made my debut as Wonder Girls to replace Sunmi, I was really scared because everything happened in the blink of an eye. None of it was planned as well."

Hearing this, Sunye revealed that she was worried about Hyerim too, and thought that she must have felt scared to be in a place with girls that she has never been with before or even met.
Sunye added, "But you did really well. I was so proud of you. I realized that you were very strong inside, even though you looked kind of fragile from the outside."
Sunye also praised Hyerim for being able to adjust well to the new people and environment.

Hyerim Reveals Sunye is the Mom-Figure of Wonder Girls
As Hyerim heard Sunye's warm words, she ended up crying a bit more. Seeing this, Sunye also ended up tearing up a little.
Hyerim then revealed that Sunye was like the mom of the group. "Since I was new to the group, I wanted to be able to fit in with you and the rest of the members. So I relied on you a lot. You were like our mom. You are still like one," Hyerim said.
She continued, "When you came over to my place, I loved what you made for me. All of your dishes are amazing. How do you cook so well? How is the beef in the soup so tender?"

Hearing this, Sunye just laughed and said that you have to boil the soup for a long time.
Meanwhile, Wonder Girls debuted in 2007, with Hyerim joining three years later following Sunmi's hiatus from the group. The group officially disbanded in 2017.
