On April 6, Newsen released an exclusive report claiming she will be making her solo debut with an album later this month. In response, CUBE Entertainment confirmed the news.

This would make Miyeon the third member of (G)I-DLE to debut as a soloist. Soyeon debuted as a soloist on November 5, 2017, before she even debuted with (G)I-DLE. Yuqi debuted as a soloist on May 13, 2021.
Miyeon will debut as a soloist approximately four years after her debut in the girl group. Though she has released several OSTs since her idol debut, she is expected to treat fans to a new side of her with her first solo album.
