For much of her career, (G)I-DLE member Shuhua has drawn criticism for her "lackluster" dance skills. Since her debut, people claimed the idol lacked the strength and energy as her members, making her look bored and lazy on stage.

There have been several clips of the idol dancing that has garnered criticism.
Though Shuhua does not have a dance position in (G)I-DLE, people still slammed her for her alleged lack of ability.

However, a now-viral clip has changed people's minds.
On March 19, 2022, YouTuber user 송알라뷰뺑얼 uploaded a short, 13-second video of Shuhua with the title "Shuhua's dancing in this part is crazy." The footage showed Shuhua dancing during Soyeon's first verse of "TOMBOY" during the group's "M Countdown" performance on March 17.

The video quickly went viral online, with internet users commenting on how much Shuhua's dancing skills have improved. While she was initially slammed for her clumsy and dull movements, Shuhua is now being praised for her accurate and sharp dance moves. Her execution of each dance move drew compliments from viewers.
Additionally, her facial expressions also earned praise. In the past, Shuhua received negative feedback for her expressions on stage, with some saying she looked bored. Now, however, she looked charismatic and chic.

Some comments left by Korean internet users read, "I am a fan of another group, but Shuhua's skills have seriously improved," "Now she is an amazing dancer," "Nowadays, I like Shuhua's dance videos the most out of them (G)I-DLE members. She is the best," "She now knows how to use her body," and "She was always a good dancer, but she totally sharpened her moves during the hiatus. She looks so cool!"

(G)I-DLE released their mini-album, "I NEVER DIE," and its lead single, "TOMBOY," on March 14, 2022. Following its release, "TOMBOY' debuted at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and Download CHart. On the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100, "TOMBOY" debuted at number 21, then rose to number one the following week.
