Pocketdol Studio Responds to Reports of DIA Preparing to Disband With Last Music Release

On May 11 KST, it was reported that girl group DIA is preparing to end group promotions and disband. However, reports claim that the girl group will be making one final comeback prior to their disbandment this year.

According to reports, DIA will be making their final comeback some time in August of this year, and that their final promotion will include all six of the remaining group members, including Huihyeon, Eunice, Yebin, Jooeun, Eunchae, and Jung Chaeyeon.

After their final promotions together as a group, DIA's exclusive contracts with their agency, PocketDol Studios, will reportedly be expiring a month after in September.

Reports claim that the DIA members had decided to part ways with both the agency and the group when September comes, and that their final music release together will serve as their farewell to fans as the members prepare to focus on their individual careers.

If DIA does make their final comeback in August, this will be the first album release from the group in more than two years and two months, since the release of their sixth mini album "Flowers 4 Seasons," release back in June 2020.

However, they add that it is not confirmed whether this will indeed be the final album of the group following the album release in August, as there would still be a month left until their exclusive contracts with the agency expires.

"There is still a little more [time] left [until the contract expiration]. We don't know if the album in August will be their last album," PocketDol Studios stated.

More About DIA

Meanwhile, DIA, which is short for "DIAMOND" and a backronym for "Do It Amazing," made their debut back in September 2015 originally under MBK Entertainment with seven members: Eunice, Jenny, Eunjin, Huihyeon (previously known as Cathy), Yebin, Seunghee, and former I.O.I member Jung Chaeyeon.

Through the years, DIA had several lineup changes. In March 2016, Eunchae was added to the lineup, with Seunghee parting ways with the group in April.

In April 2017, DIA added two more members, Somyi and Jueun. In May 2018 and July 2019, Eunjin and Jenny left the group due to health reasons, respectively.

More recently, Somyi terminated her contract with PocketDol Studios in January 2022 and left DIA.
