The report also said that Kihyun and Bona were very careful about going on dates, choosing quiet and private locations such as Shinsa-dong and taking drives using Kihyun's car. Moreover, Sports Chosun said that the two idols went on a trip to Jeju Island with their friends.

Following the exclusive report, Starship Entertainment released an official statement denying the dating rumor of MONSTA X Kihyun and WJSN Bona. The agency clarified that Kihyun and Bona are just a senior and junior of the same agency. They also denied the report that the two dated for five years or went on a trip together.

While the company gave their stance on the matter, Kihyun and Bona did not speak up about their dating rumor.
